Just read chapter 3; I thought it was good. Yeah its slow but sometimes its necessary to set up later chapters.
I like Fancypants being the Ambassador.....and bringing Fleur DeLis along? He won't be bored I can tell you that.
However, I can see the crew getting jealous...
I found the passage about the ponies reaction to the Concordia interesting; I wonder how they would react to a first rate ship like HMS Victory?
One suggestion: maybe have Captain Mays give Fancypants and Fleur DeLis a tour of the ship? It would serve as a way to familiarize readers with the nuts and bolts of a ship of the late 18th/early 19th century.....It can also serve as a way to elaborate on what happened between Captain Mays and Prince Blueblood. (based on what I have read about duelling at the time it is most likely that a suitable settlement involving some sort of face saving apology by Blueblood happened; not all challenges ended up on the field of honor.)
