And the original artist wasn't upset or anything. They appreciated that I like their work, they just didn't want it associated with a story where NMM will likely engage in sex. Not because they have a problem with sex, but because they already have a headcanon/story for that pic they created. And I can respect that.

Er... not really? She focuses on the non-sleep R&R activities ponies undertake, with only a very brief mention of the possible effects on the plants and animals. I selected my arguments to be ones that hadn't been brought up.
FYI, this isn't a criticism of the story. Your characters are perfectly believable, especially how you have Celestia acting. We've seen repeatedly that she will take significant action without really thinking through all the possible consequences. Honestly, this chapter could have just as easily continued into an analysis of some of Celestia's flaws. (Not to say I don't like where you've chosen to take it - I'm not one to complain about some sweet, sweet petplay.)

She touches on the rest of it, but I suppose she doesn't go into as much detail on those points, true. This chapter is basically a reason for Luna to be in a bad enough mood for the Nightmare force to take over again, but sadly we may never know where it ends up going, because I'm not confident the patron will be interested in funding it anymore. They said something about 'maybe next year'. We'll have to wait and see.

Wow, that was... something. I decided to give the story a chance because of the awesome Nightmare Bat cover art. I don't know what kind of kinky s#!t the patron had in mind, and frankly, I don't wanna know! No offense. I acknowledge that half of the fun of Fimfiction is the kinky s#!t! (There's a good reason why I had to confirm that I was over 16 when I signed up for my account.) If it wasn't for porn, most people would still have never heard of the internet.
Having said that, this story has the potential to be something more. The characters are very believable and in-character--a hallmark of your stories, Wish. If you were to ever continue this just for the sake of continuing a good story, I'd humbly suggest rewriting the ending to ease off of the "Incest is Wincest." I could see Phantasma humiliating Celestia in front of a crowd or something, but I'd love to see this as an action story. (Even with the kinky s#!t, this could be a good action story!) Just my two cents.
Updated status to CANCELLED. Sorry but I think by now it's obvious this story is never going to have its original commission backing restored. Sorry about that, folks.

*shrug* Commissions are commissions. At the time there wasn't a whole lot I wasn't wiling to write about, and I enjoyed the idea of a new challenge. I keep the disclaimer text on all commission stories because in the past there have been some misunderstandings regarding my own personal interest in the subject matter. I am the artist for-hire on commissions, nothing more. That is not to say that there's nothing about the seedier side of commissions I like, but for the most part it's better to go to the original commissioner if you want to chat up a mutual interest in the subject matter. I do hope when you say you had to confirm you're over 16, that you're also over 18!
As for this story, well, it barely ever got started, so I'm sure there was potential there. I wouldn't continue a commission on my own without the blessing of the commissioner though (unless that proved impossible to obtain). Meanwhile, if I did give anything a go again, I don't think this one would be the first place I'd go. Not that it wasn't working, just not my first choice. Thanks for checking it out though!
