Good authors too, who once knew better words, Now only use four-letter words writing prose. Anything goes. :raritywink:

Discord has put together a dinner for Celestia, as a genuine thanks for giving him another chance at life, and perhaps to move to something more than just friendship. Their dinner is interrupted by Scratch, Warden of Tartarus, and continual thorn in the side of Equestrian Royalty. He comes bearing bad news... Someone or something has escaped.from Tartarus, and what's worse, it has kidnapped Luna.

Celestia and Discord need to ask around to the other Princesses and Zecora to find out how, who, and why this all happened.

Well, this was fun. No, seriously I loved it. The comedy was really good, the costumes made me fall down in laughter, particularly the CSI Miami one. And of course, I got what I wanted most, Celestia in an orange sweater:pinkiehappy: I've always been a big Scooby Doo fan. And the mystery was so fun. The ending seemed a little rushed but otherwise a brilliant job. A brilliant job.

I'm not sure what I liked more, Discord bringing along the CSI Miami Imp or the Scooby-Doo reference. Or all the other detective references.

No, definitely the CSI imp.

I'll be honest, I'm still not sure what to think of Scratch.

I really like the idea of a villain with his kind of power and personality standing in stark contrast to the "sappy" magic of friendship. It's clear that he has a legitimate place in the happenings of Equestria -- I can't see anyone claiming he needs to be destroyed. The only question I still have is what is he to Cerberus? Master, companion, co-worker, different branch of Tartarus entirely?

I do wish he wouldn't keep shooting himself in the foot. It's not the best idea to dangle the idea of reuniting the Princess of Darkness, Night, and Dreams with someone dear to her if you're not willing to face her wrath afterward in the sudden but inevitable betrayal. Maybe he could have played a longer con, but that could be a story in itself. I could see him using half truths and twisting his words to remain truthful. I could also see him settling for controlling a small portion of Equestria, planting disharmony and malice in the populace, then allowing that to spread until the Princesses' empire crumbles from rot. Also, really Scratch? Trying to trap uber-powerful beings in a simple cave-in without even enchanting the rocks to resist their magic? At least make some effort to be a little threatening.

I did like Scratch's reference to the song about Jericho with "the walls came a-tumbling down." Just... He DOES know why Jericho fell, right? Seems like a strange image to call to mind. Is there really no better reference? Maybe "And the penny drops"?
