I completely forgot about that track.

Nice oneshot

This reminds me of that guy who wished to go to equestria but got shunned he committed suicide

The ponies are lucky it was guns on his hands not nanobots capable of constructing, deconstructing and reconstruction

That would be total chaos though>:D

Darker and colder than my heart after the Horus Heresy

I LOVE IT!!

Thanks! I had some weird dreams while I was working on this story...

I kinda wish he didn't kill himself and became something of a legend, but I enjoyed it.

I got a nosebleed from the edge, but good story nonetheless.

So any chance of Celestia and Shy telling the real story? I like reading stories with the premise of 'for a race that preaches peace, love, and acceptance for all you seem to be pretty adamant on keeping it all exclusive to yourselves'. They know Ronnie's story except for Discord's involvement, but finding out he was a victim of racism that escalated to the point of being blamed for shit that wasn't his fault, his home burned down, and nearly killed would definitely change their opinions of him.

I see what you're saying, but you also got to remember that although yes, he was a victim of extreme racism, and that Discord did get involved which led to the destruction of Ponyville, Celestia and Shy don't even know about his tampering. From their eyes, Ronnie was a being that let his feelings dictate his actions in a way far contrary to how ponies would, ultimately leading to the massacre.
So yes, they know that Ronnie was heavily discriminated against, but they still believe that his actions were fully his own. And despite knowing what they know now, in their eyes that doesn't excuse the deaths of all those ponies.

I did say they didn't know about Discord's involvement. Also while the reasons may not justify much less excuse his actions it's not like he had any other options. He was an attack or kill on sight target for just about the entire town so even though he struck first that day he was in a way defending himself from a town filled with nothing but hypocrital xenophobes who intentionally escalated the situation to murder by preemptively striking them. I would like to think of this as how Jason in the Endverse would have done things had he wanted blood a little more than justice. Ronnie hadn't done anything to them that they hadn't already done, supported, or tried to do to him first for no other reason than being different. It is for that one reason besides Discord that as far as I'm concerned he will maintain the moral high ground as his reasons justified murder better than different race and bad season. He only did it once, they drove him to that point by doing most of or attempting to do those things to him first for 4 months. One act of evil compared to the dozens of the same or attempted acts of such is nothing. Even Celestia said those acts of depravity would put Sombra to shame, and he was the closest thing the world had to a King of Darkness.

There are a few other ways to look at this:
"Monsters are not born, they're made"
"Even with a heart of gold, one may still find themselves an outcast in paradise"
"Monster is as monster does"
"What else can you be when all the world wants to see is a monster"
"If he's a monster for his actions what does that make everyone else for turning him into one, for making him feel he had no other options when in reality he didn't"
"He didn't do anything they didn't want him to do" (or should have expected)

I 100% agree with you. However, in the story, Celestia doesn't see it that way. Yes, her ponies were horrible to this creature, yes they tried to kill it and drove it from its home, but her mindset of 'my ponies can't be evil' is so ingrained in her head that she takes their side no matter what(for this story specifically).
Ronnie is morally correct. As the author, I agree with that.
But Celestia, as a character, just doesn't see it that way. The depraved acts she spoke of weren't what her ponies did, it was what Ronnie wrote about doing to them. I apologize if that was unclear.
All in all, I appreciate the feedback and I like you delving deeper into the nuances of the story.

I see, though that opinion would likely change after having Shy confirm those things happened to him instead.

Two things I forgot to say in the last comment:
"We are creatures of 3 things, reason, desire, and emotion. Any one of which can suppress or fuel the others"
"An eye for an eye may make the whole world blind, but the world has proven itself time and again incapable or unwilling to learn in any way that doesn't involve a bloody massacre"
