Forget not that I am a derp.

At Bronycon 2018, Quills & Sofas held about half a dozen manual typewriters. Again. I wrote some more silly stories on them, each one inspired by a panel I attended.

That reason! Cake!

:rainbowlaugh:

And oooh! Alliteration!

Now I wish I had had the time to make it to that panel, but I had other stuff going on.

"To record Istarrius's villain song?" said Pinkie.

Okay, that was a good joke. Bonus points for being a text-based one, rather than visual.

I know all about those typewriters. I brought them for ROBCakeran53 (he wrote Last Stop, Equestria, you know) and we just unloaded them at his house tonight. All 2,000 pounds of them. :derpytongue2:

Maud gave a shrug measured in micrometers. "You aren't the only social butterfly in the family."

I can so hear this in Maud's voice. :pinkiehappy:

I believe this chapter goes under "Slice of History". :trollestia:

Vinyl is just the right pony to recklessly (ab)use advanced thaumatechnical developments in ways never imagined by more sober individuals.

Can't take credit for the alliteration; that was the name of the panel.

Biographies of Celestia are infamous for being either unreadably long or abridged to the point of uselessness. Many say that the best compromise between detail and accessibility is actually a seemingly unrelated five-volume set, Slice of History: The Legacy of Baked Goods in Equestria.

The song itself was... interesting. Imagine Gabriel Brown hammily declaiming every unpleasant verb that rhymes with "annihilate."

I appreciate both of your efforts. Hope to see them (and you) again next year!

Sobriety is the enemy of progress.

9088420
Please bring those next year. I was unable to attend this year and it has been so long since I've had the chance to type on a real metal typewriter that slides and goes *ding*

This collection does not contain beans in any configuration or orientation.

The cake is a lie.

Did I use that quote properly?

:rainbowlaugh: I loved this. It's so casual how everyone is about Twilight's otherworldly shenanigans

I remember that video and, I got to say, it was disturbing :twilightoops:

I also agree with what Discord said: if you grow up in a sheltered environment where everything is sunshine and rainbows, the first sign of trouble will shatter you like glass. I know that from experience :ajsleepy:

I could never get those typewriters to work.

Neat anthology, tho

We’ll be bringing them again. It’s lots of fun listening to the typewriters go, and a good experience for younger writers, too.

At first I thought this was a reference to G1, but halfway through I remembered that G3 was far more saccharine and bland.

"And it's not like the risk is that high. You're making this sound like the fish market on Dagon Street or something."

Poor Mr. Hong. :ajsleepy:

It is always awkward to talk with your ex isn't it?

9092811
Yup, G1 has cutesy looks, but it's also where Tirek and Grogar and the Smooze come from originally. It and G4 are in many ways kindred spirits, whereas G3 is just a saccharine storm.

Is this "complete" complete, or just "complete" until this year's BronyCon?

9564917
Complete-complete. Anything I type up this year will go in a new anthology, much like how these shorts didn't go into Unconventional Methods.

9565192
That's what I figured.
I just wanted to be sure

I came to read these before starting this years collection. If they're as good as these (if not better because you've likely improved) then I'm in for more great laughs! :rainbowlaugh:

I remember at the mad-libs pannel, everytime they asked for an Adjective, I'd shout, NORTH KOREAN, eventually someone at the front said, "We're not doing a Race", Which I replied with, "but it's a nationality"... Later he read off "okay, we need a.. Nationality" and that same guy just looked at me... (I also have the Harry Potter CoS they did, signed by Larson)

Discord took a deep breath, distorted by the bucket now on his head. "If you only knew its power..."

This is an example of how to do a good Discord visual gag, and also how to do a good referential joke without just outright stating what it is. :)

Sadly, the video no longer works. :C

Oh dear. Well, here's the video in question, though that one does have people reacting over it.

oh my god, I think I actually remember this :O
