No wonder Phobia was so bitter, although I think another compulsion should have been for Sunset to remember each Dreamwarden's names as a safety net
Epilogue will be released Monday or Tuesday. Will touch on each character briefly to give them a final send off for this story. You may see cameos of these characters in other stories, but the major next installment from them will pick up six years later in the timeline. Release date is uncertain as I need to wait on ASGeek to finish with Aftermath.
Hope everyone has enjoyed reading. I know there aren't any true heros in this story, most characters have questionable morals--at best. Despite that I hope every character was interesting in their own ways.
The characters were certainly memorable. Guessing it's going to be a long wait to find out what is being built. Nice to see Sunset Blessing being had at the end, Sha'am even rubs it in.
Was going to call the Dreamwardens assholes for what they pulled, but the more I think about it they actually did a lot of good things with this farce trial. They gave Number closure, gave Tonya a new ability, and let Tattered know that she did indeed protect an innocent pony by not following through with charging Number with murder.
It was interesting to see that Devon inadvertently did play a role in everything too. If Devon had not been there that night there's a good chance Tonya wouldn't have did what she did.
Well, that was more or less what I expected -- very well written, and not shying away from the dire reality that the Dreamwardens are entirely corrupt and self-serving from the get-go. The entire affair has been a complete show trial all along, with the Dreamwardens' sole interest being to advance their own power and agenda, and a minor secondary interest in "protecting" ponies from actual justice.
well, the trials in the dream realm have shown the absolute truth based on actual memories, where a waking world trial is based on remembered memories and those are subject to change, along with people lying outright in trials. unless you have a video tape of the actual crime, it would be hard to know the absolute truth. Then again this trial has shown that there were other elements at play that would have never been considered.
all in all a very well thought out story.

i would think that thier agenda would be to prepare for the future cataclysm that will be coming , jut not in thier lifetimes... then again, absolute power corrupts absolutely.
so this is a good out come and at the same time we know more of the plan.
a grate chapter.
This has been an excellent story, and you've really grown as a writer. I felt the character interaction were well done, and everything was interwoven together very well. I liked how everything was not clear-cut and black and white. Shades of grey abounded in this story, something I've been trying to achieve with my own stories.
Ahh, so that was their shpiel. I suspected they wouldn't punish Tonya when it was revealed that it was the Dreamwardens who'd done in Swift. There was no point to it as a demonstration at that stage, so that only left schemes. And now Blessing is in the middle of them.
I think that you meant the Warden of Silence, not the Warden of Peace, since Sha'am already asked him.
And also this was a great story. I really liked to read it and I enjoyed every second of reading it. You really did a great job there and I can't wait for your next stories. Keep your great work up
