There's probably more, but after one reading, that's all I can find. Well done!
Weren't.
With.
It’ll be interesting to see where all of this ultimately goes, especially with what is happening in the main story.
The probllem with shadow dancer is his go to solution to any problems is mind control.
Also Crystal was kind of at fault in the first scene she tried to use her transformation to not pay her bill.
She could have gone to the cops or something but she just tried to ignore it.
This was a difficult chapter to read from the content standpoint. This just killed any real sympathy I had for the night ponies and I would never feel comfortable if I found out they existed. Twilight really needs to chew out Luna over this as I doubt even Celestia knows just how far her sisters power goes and what she set up on Earth without fully informing her. This will comeback and bit all the Wardens and Luna hard.
Shadow Dancer used more mind control magic in the conversion process than I thought he might have used. Ironically, I pictured him acting more like a demagogue politician or a cult leader, and less like Batman. But I still wonder how many of the humans he converted had other reasons for wanting to become ponies which made them more susceptible to his suggestions. All of the humans he changed were feeling intense hostile emotions towards ponies, but we still really don't know to what degree, if any, those intense emotions were generated by jealousy or envy.
I'd also like to know if the Dreaqmwardens would be able to restore his dreamwalking ability, if they chose to. Once he's done everything he can to help the humans he influenced, he could possibly be productively employed in discouraging other night ponies from repeating his mistakes. At that point, I'd hope his dream walking abilities could be restored, assuming that is possible, so that he could more effectively interact with other night ponies.
I strongly feel with Twilight here.
Honestly, I’m not happy with this punishment. What he did was hardly different from what the Broken Ones or the Dreamwardens did: Exert authority to stop people they thought were evil by force. The Dreamwardens, with the use of compulsions, are actually guilty of far, far worse crimes than him. I was expecting an open-and-shut case; this seems a lot more morally ambiguous now.

Well, with a chapter longer than anything in Aftermath that was all given by Twilight's perspective I think making everyone uncomfortable with the dreamwardens was the point. She started off uncomfortable with them, and ended even more uncomfortable with them.
I think this sums up the feelings on the Dreamwardens. They aren't a force for good, and they aren't really evil either. They're just kind of morally grey. Twilight pointed it out several times there is this weird combination of them being really cruel and really caring at the same time. It just makes dealing with them uncomfortable.
The other dreamwardens have to be aware that Phobia is making contract with the government and with the Equestrians. I wonder how they feel about that. Even though they have no actual leader it feels like she is making moves that kind of put her in a leadership type position. She does seem interested in finding a better way of doing this. Whether they ever do get to where they aren't so nasty is unlikely to be covered in this story. It was interesting that her glorified image of herself is the very nightmare that she was trapped in. I wonder if that is a statement about how she feels about the current situation on some subconscious level.

I wonder if that's why Yinyu hesitated in giving her vote. Phobia was essentially left with two options by the time the vote went to her. I think she wanted to vote with Yinyu but knew that would just end in a mind wipe.
As do I. At this point Twilight is justified in asking whether she should worry about waking up one day and finding Starlight with an empty gaze and nobody home. Equestrian night ponies and unicorns in general have good reason to never set a hoof on earth, given how far more laid back Equestria is about mind magic.
Well, so far. Luna seems to be going over the edge herself here, given how she seemingly approves of horrifying torture. And I'm not buying that "oh we dampened it so it's not as bad" excuse. You don't get traumas from dampened fear. And if they somehow do dampen things while still making the lesson stick... well then that's just evidence they don't really need the horrifying torture, now is it?
Had to dig up my long dormant account to say that this chapter was well worth the wait! Can't wait to see where the story goes!

Also, did the wardens even discuss what a ‘lenient’ punishment would entail? It seems like the Warden of Death (one of the harsher wardens!) just up and decided.

I very much agree with you. This isn’t necessary, it’s just cruel. I wonder whether the memories Luna shared with the Dreamwardens made them harsher than they would have been, or whether the Dreamwarden process is somehow warping in some way.
I guess you mean a dice. I hope it helps you if I tell you about this word

It's dice if plural, but if there is only one it's a die.
I wonder how supportive Fluttershy would be of this. Seems unlikely but you never know. It would be funny to see Twilight's reaction if Fluttershy saw all this and said, "that seems reasonable."
I couldn't believe my eyes when the chapter started from Twilight's perspective! I loved seeing Twilight and Starlight's perspective and feelings on this. Spinoff or not, I'm going to be remembering this as I read their moods and feelings in Aftermath.
I imagine Shadow Denver's punishment involving dream situations where his will is taken away and he is forced to act against his nature and desires in numerous scenarios. I can imagine Shaam having him walking into a manure pit. Or having him torture and kill Crystal Dreams while he screams at himself in his mind to stop. Yinyu Wu Yan making him have fun time with something he finds absolutely repulsive. The warden of anger probably make him abuse puppies and children violently against his will.
Wow I didn't realize how fun it could be to imagine nightmarish revenge lol
Yeah, this is deeply disturbing. It basically went, "Well, he was committing mass mindrape against humans, but he did it to benefit himself and ponies so that's forgivable."
We saw from the VERY FIRST incident that he is a rabid pony supremacist, he demands that humans respect ponies as "your betters".
