Spike had been living the good life out of Twilight's basement for some time now, turning it into his personal 'dragon-cave' and not having to worry about a thing in the world. All that changes when he's forced to move into the newly constructed apartment complex on the other side of town. A month later, Spike gets a new neighbor who changes his life. Or, more specifically, his new neighbor's dog Virgil. Whom, by the way, Spike alone sees as an earth pony. How will Spike's life change? Will this creature known only as "Virgil" help Spike turn his life around? Or will he ruin what little left that Spike can call his own?

I won't lie to you guys, I wrote this in the middle of the day, wide awake, not under the influence of any legal/illegal substances, and sober.
This Fic was thought up from my pure, un-adulterated, crazy mind, so there are no excuses for it being either insanely funny or horribly silly.

998485 It doesn't have to be Lord of the Rings Trilogy long, but maybe a few updates to sort out the issue. The OC, the owner of Virgil, maybe some more expansion? Virgil himself. Does he and Spike ever get more of a "I'm a dog, and I'm the master" scenario going on?

hilarious, so I figured I'd take a crack at my own variation. 
'Wilfred' is what inspired me to write this and, hopefully, some of the humor from the show rubbed off on me.

Found a few errors here and there (nothing that really broke me from the story, but that might not be the case for everyone.) But hell, I'll say it, I enjoyed it quite a bit. It was funny!
I still love the interactions here, especially between Spike and Virgil. So many hilarious moments could stem from this, many already have. The only thing I'd ever really complain about here, and even then I don't mind it, is that the romance between Spike and Shelly seems a little tacked on, like it was a last second thing. Could just be me, though.
I could have sworn this was just a one-shot, but it looks like that was just the introductory chapter. Awesome! I hope to see more from this.
