This story is a sequel to Allure of Generosity

If there's a fundamental truth of the universe, it's that siblings don't always want to confide in one another. Sweetie Belle has a problem, but Rarity can't get her to open up to it or even admit it. Perhaps it will take the interference of another pony to break through Sweetie's shell.

The only question now is whether Fluttershy is up to the task.

The Generosity Series
Chronological from Top to Bottom:
Lessons in Generosity
Study of Generosity
Friend of Generosity
Allure of Generosity
Heir of Generosity?
Triangle of Generosity

Just a little something I whipped up as a bridge between Allure and where I really want to take this series.

This is a nice story. My only concern would be Fluttershy's... well I can't be objective on my words, but her inner thoughts feel a bit darkened and somewhat cold.

But again, that's just my perspective, still qualified to be in my favorite and bumped lists!

Wait, when did they say they were going to get heirs? I don't recall that, did I miss something?

Many thanks for the follow!

You missed nothing. That's expanding headcanon for this AU, nothing more.

Then, after only a second, she started to giggle. “And that was a really good impression of my sister.”

"You should hear my Pinkie Pie."

A great Fluttershy voice, especially the heavy use of animal similes... though I find myself wondering who she was talking to. Probably just reading too much into a narrative device.

As for the story itself, I did quite like it, though Sweetie has another self-imposed burden that she only obliquely mentioned: It'll be hard to do Crusader work from Bridleway.

In any case, looking forward to seeing what else you do with the series.

Probably going to be hard for Sweetie even after this if both of her best friends are heirs. And 8958685 has a point about the crusader business.

I did like the story though very much!

I actually think Sweetie would have an easier time doing Crusader work. If she’s in a traveling production she’d meet all kinds of ponies during her travels/downtime. Even if it’s just a quick five-minute chat with someone, as long as she’s willing to listen to others about their problems (if they come to her with them) odds are she’ll be doing Crusader work somewhere along the line.

So this isn’t another “how is this connected to your other AU headcanon?” thing, but I do want to observe a similarity from a earlierPA story.

In ‘Tyrant’ a new set of ponies have taken up the Elements to replace the fallen Mane Six. However, Princess Twilight calls foul on how those ponies choose to represent their inherited Elements, which for the most part are 1:1 proxy of their predecessors.
Now we have a new chapter in the Generosity AU, where Sweetie Belle has cut from that outcome in her own way
.

Anyway, reading way too much into the author’s extensive works again, but T was my intro to PA, and holds a special place in my head hardware.

Different note. Interesting, or just a cool coincidence, that the FiM episode ‘The Cart Before the Pony’ has already touched on a similar goal; that the Crusaders may wish to separate from the molds of their respective siblings.

More coincidence than anything. I do appreciate that The Cart Before The Ponies showed how the CMC aren't carbon copies of their respective big sisters, but that episode was far from my mind when I wrote this.

Outstanding job! Will there be more in this series, maybe following another Element?

I do have a few more stories in mind for the Generosity series.

I considered the possibility of writing similar stories for the other Elements, but ultimately decided against it. I don’t feel like I ‘get’ the others quite as well as I do Generosity. Aside from that, I have too many other projects I should be working on to go making another set of these for another character. Technically I shouldn’t have started this one for the same reason.

Well, I look forward to reading those future additions to the Generosity series.

I look forward to the continuation of this series.

I look forward to reading more of this series and by the way, tell Sweetie Belle that I wish her luck with her audition.
