Tfw you walk through the girls aisle in target, see all the pony clothing, and desperately wish you were a girl aged 4-9. Sigh.

Wow....
It was a wonderful read but I just dont understand Twilight's thought process here at all. Why would she spend a year tempting Rarity only to leave and not even inform her as to why? If she is indeed going to leave for a teaching job in Canterlot why not share this with Rarity and spend what was supposedly their last day together going all the way? Could you elaborate on what is her reasonimg behind playing such a long game only to not even have full on sex and leave without a word, please?

Hey -- thanks for stopping by and sharing your thoughts.
A good question; and one I'm on the fence about. Sometimes I start writing, and the characters end up kinda going off on their own, regardless of how I want them to be. It makes for an interesting end-result, that sometimes even eludes me. But, my idea was this: Twilight was attracted to Rarity, and vice versa, but, like Rarity, didn't want their 'library relationship' to change. Some people are afraid of change, and what something can bring to their carefully planned out lives. So they played their game, and by the end of it, Twilight was, against her better judgement, invested in Rarity. Though she still didn't want change, so she ended it there, giving Rarity her journal to remember her by.
Sometime between then and the start of her class, she likely felt regret about leaving her, and realized it was an opportunity to start something new -- and maybe long term? -- when she noticed Rarity was in her class.
I hope that helps. Its sort of what I was aiming for.
Thanks again!

Ugh, deleted my first reply. Well it's a sweet story, and give how neurotic the canonical Twilight is, I can accept this explanation.
It is incredibly fitting for Twilight to pursue and sexually devour her interests through books alone.
It is also incredibly fitting for Rarity to track her down again once she's gotten hooked, like a hybrid of a piranha and a bloodhound.
