Something that hasn't really been done before -- at least from what I've seen. The reason I made it a self insert was because I was imagining how I would react in such a situation. And you can bet your ass I'd die pretty damn quick.
I'm also hoping this will kickstart an idea for something bigger in the future.

That's fine. This was somewhat experimental for me, so I'm expecting mixed reactions. If it does good hey, that's great. If it doesn't, meh. There's a lot that isn't explained and I'm sure people will have questions, but this story is supposed to be taking place from the POV of someone who has no idea what's going on and doesn't really have a lot of time to find out.
I like it enough. I’m neutral on this. If there is a next part or a new story, maybe the next part is try to have the person figure out what the hell cause this mess

I always wonder if there will be any HiE or displaced that tries more or less like this fimfic. You know, a little terror but more focused on the survival thing
. Obviously that kind of stories will not be for everyone, the taste varies a lot but sometimes the variety is good.
it's a little funny that in almost 6-7 years, I have not seen any fimfic of that style that has HiE, displaced or of any similar style. Have you ever seen them?
even so, it was a relief to have seen it at least once (this fimfic, even if it was short, was well set for reading)

Its hard to find good horror Fics on this site, and you my friend have added a classic short. In the perfect Lovecraft / King tradition, the protagonist is dropped into the shit with no explanation as to whats going on. Like King said in an interview once, "In real life you don't get everything explained to you. Sometimes you walk in somewhere at the middle of things. "

This was a completely random idea I came up with one day and was written on a whim in about two hours or so. It was written because I hadn't really seen anything like it done before, I wanted to know what people's reaction to it would be, and I wanted to create unique concept I could build ideas off of. The resulting sequel is what I came up with.
