November

~ Nov 1 ~

Fiddler takes a break
And joins the crowd for cider
Wind over dry leaves

~ Nov 2 ~

Mushrooms, brown and pink
Surface for a breath of air
From beneath the leaves

~ Nov 3 ~

Hay tied in bundles
Stacked high together in piles
Divided by barns

~ Nov 4 ~

Filly kicks her hooves
Still time to wait before school
Chilly drops of dew...

~ Nov 5 ~

Laughter and hors d'oeurves
With mares in every fashion
Autumn wind outside

~ Nov 6 ~

No longer special
Blending in with the others
Bare maple branches

~ Nov 7 ~

Earth pony village
Will relax and share its warmth
Fresh start of winter!

~ Nov 8 ~

Hibernation Day
Festival without a peep
All together now

~ Nov 9 ~

Chilly winter rain
Freeze snow shovels to the ground
Factory's late again

~ Nov 10 ~

Empty withered field
Still grows echoes of a poem!
Echoes of a poem

~ Nov 11 ~

First snow delivered
Bunny traces a circle
For each new hoofprint

~ Nov 12 ~

Rush of sweat and tears
Last minute dress orders, or
Steaming hot spa bath

~ Nov 13 ~

Empty winter skies
Little colt learning to fly
Rising in circles

~ Nov 14 ~

Pony-pulled sleigh rides
Both mares claim to be fastest
And the race begins

~ Nov 15 ~

Frost covered fountain
The statue gets company
Snowpony circus

~ Nov 16 ~

Over her fancy earmuffs
Nothern wind whipping her mane
She can't hear my laugh

~ Nov 17 ~

Hot cocoa: four mugs
Three to warm up Pinkie Pie
We can share our one

~ Nov 18 ~

Soft, round, winter moon
Illuminating the snow
Thrown back and forth

~ Nov 19 ~

Crackling bonfire
Throws dancing pony shadows
Back at Everfree

~ Nov 20 ~

Quick little snowflake
First to wear my brand new boots
I'll meet you inside

~ Nov 21 ~

Stream frozen over
Shapes and shadows on the ice
Fish chase each other

~ Nov 22 ~

Solitary twig
Halfway up the hill of snow
Tugging on a scarf

~ Nov 23 ~

Skating Saddle Lake
Little sister zooms ahead
Wonders why we're slow

~ Nov 24 ~

Just above the snow
Flapping wings don't make much noise
Surprise hug, a shriek

~ Nov 25 ~

Days growing shorter
Less of everything except
That early dawn smell

~ Nov 26 ~

Old quilt for two
Nothing changes its shape, just
Softly up and down

~ Nov 27 ~

Frozen Winsome Falls
Stopped roaring, stopped murmuring...
Whispers and giggles

~ Nov 28 ~

Small town icicles
Carried away on train cars
Life in the city

~ Nov 29 ~

Great horned owl calls out
From within the grove of pines
Some birds don't migrate

~ Nov 30 ~

A clear winter day
In every cottage window
Pegasus in bed

Author's Note:

Traditional Japanese seasons place the equinox or solstice as the mid-point of the season, not the beginning. Makes more sense to me. So I went with their calendar of Nov 7 as the beginning of winter.
