Cheerilee deals with being retired and seemingly having nothing really left to do in Equestria, perhaps her passed students can teach her a lesson in turn.

I had to do some timeline chopping to get it to work but nothing major, just some movements of years.

I had to toss in a handful of OCs for her students/famous writers/poets but I didn't list it because the story is about Cheerilee, not them. And technically the last non canon pony is actually taken from one of her students seen in the show but I had to give her a name.

:fluttercry: You will always be Ponyville's favorite teacher. I came expecting a story relating to Cheerliee being retired because of the new School of Friendship, but what I got was something oh so much better, and oh so much more heartbreaking...

Ahhh... you pulled a double play on the bell tolls. That is slick. :P

Past, not passed.

If you read it you'll get it. If not it's "Passed" as in "Passed On" aka the dead.

Heh, bells. I've been playing too much Vermindtide 2 recently.

Yessssss... Feed me your sorrow!... I mean... Thank you.

Fear not Cheerilee:applecry:. Even if you're replaced by a somepony else:ajsleepy:, you will always be remembered as Ponyville's one and only true teacher:pinkiesad2:. You have your students, both past and present to remind you of that, and even as you lay in tour final resting place and drift off into eternal slumber, you can take solace in knowing that you helped a group of bright young minds (three especially) bloom into beautiful flowers:twilightsmile:. That you left behind a legacy to make sure that you will always be remembered for years to come, and that you will never be forgotten:scootangel:. Farewell Cheerilee, may you find peace and eternal happiness in the Elysian Fields of Paradise:ajsleepy:. We will always love you:heart:.

Good story, I was very entertained by it.

Past in the context you're using it needs to end with a T not an SED. I just thought I'd let you know. You're using passed as in passed away when it should be past as in past year, etc. etc.

That is exactly how I'm using it, it's in the context of the story. It's a lesson from the passed, aka the dead.

Thank you.

My first overall reaction- before getting to your comment- was that this sounded a lot like the episode "The Changing of the Guard." I think you could use some copy editing, since removing the spelling and grammar errors would really enhance the way the message comes through.

Yeah, and I could do that if I wanted to sit down a second time, but eh, it was something to waste an hour on, not something I care enough to do. (As bad as that sounds.)
