Prologue: Pain and Sorrow

Olly shivered in the dark alleyway as the voices of the Officers called out to him. He wiped away a single tear from his eye as he looked at the photo of his brother and himself. He wiped his eyes with the dirty sleeve of his sweater. The rain continued to fall as he quietly sobbed, ignoring the calls of his parents.

"I don't deserve to go back, not when I killed him," Olly whimpered. He looked down at the photo once again and sniffled. "I'm sorry brother, you don't have to forgive me, I don't deserve it" Olly lay down on the newspaper and covered himself with the old rag and fell asleep crying. That night he saw the same nightmare. "Where am I?" Olly whimpered walking around in the darkness.

"So you came back," groaned a voice. Olly looked forward to see his brother standing before him.

"Brother," Olly whimpered. Just than a giant black claw came over him and slashed him as he fell down dead. "No," Olly whimpered.

"What do you mean?" asked the voice. "YOU killed him, it's your fault and you should know that,"

"I...I didn't mean to," Olly sobbed. He looked up to see the burning black skeleton with the purple eyes.

"Hmph, how pitiful, you knew better and you don't even try to take responsibility, you truly are selfish," said the skeleton.

"I'm trying...I just..." Olly trailed off.

"Just what?" hissed the skeleton. "You can't say nothin when all you do is run away from the truth," Olly looked down sobbing even more. "Quit crying like a brat and do something about it, or are you too scared to even tell your parents?"

"Please.......please stop," Olly whimpered.

"Hah pathetic!" laughed the skeleton. "You really are spineless, you're even scared to face me!"

"I'm....I'm sorry.......really I am," Olly sniffled.

"Oh now you're sorry!?" laughed the skeleton. "Why are you apologizing to me when it's your brother that deserves an apology?" Olly said nothing as he continued to sob. "Listen kid, you're a lucky one, I can help you fix this,"

"Really?" Olly sniffled.

"Yeah, all you have to do is carry out my bidding," said the skeleton.

"You mean like do everything you tell me to?" asked Olly.

"Yeah, exactly, you know, you may be a coward, but at least you're smart," said the skeleton. Olly wiped away his tears and walked over. "Well what do you say?" asked the skeleton holding out his hand.

"Deal," said Olly shaking his hand. The skeleton smirked with glee.

"Good, then we're a team, the name is Fear, remember that," said the skeleton.

"Ok," sniffled Olly.

"Great, well it's almost time," said Fear.

"Wait what do I do?" asked Olly.

"Ooh eager aren't you, first things first go to Bell Water Park and find the great oak tree and find the giant hole in the tree, everything else I'll explain later," said Fear.

"Ok," said Olly.

"That's my boy, well my time is up, see you soon kiddo, rise and shine!" said Fear snapping his fingers. Before he knew it Olly woke up with the sun's rays in his face. He thought about what he talked about with Fear last night and decided to check out the great oak tree. He gathered his stuff and walked out of the alleyway and made his way to Bell Water Park. It didn't take him very long considering it was only 3 blocks away from where he was. Eventually he found himself standing in front of the Great Oak Tree Fear mentioned.

"I guess this is it," said Olly. He looked at the photo and nodded. "Don't worry brother I'll fix this, I promise," He slid the photo into his pocket and walked up to the tree. He looked around until he found a giant hole behind the tree. He looked around to make sure he wasn't followed and peeked in. "Hello?" he called in. Suddenly he noticed something glowing. Inside there was a small crack that revealed a bird's eye view of a small village. Looking through, Olly could see multiple colored ponies walking around. "What?" Olly asked. Suddenly the crack expanded as two large black claws grabbed him and attempted to pull him in. "No!" Olly cried. But for some reason his body wouldn't respond and soon he was pulled in as a sinister laughter echoed throughout the area.

Another day had passed in Equestria as Luna wished Celestia a goodnight before she walked out onto the balcony. Luna fulfilled her usual duties of raising the moon and now she was free for a while.

"Well it seems like nopony is need of assistance so I might as well take a nice stroll tonight," Luna said to herself. She was about to walk back into the castle when she noticed something in the garden. "Oh I wonder what that could be," Curiously Luna jumped off the balcony and flew down to get a closer look. "Oh...oh my," Luna gasped. What she found was a small human child covered in dirt and mud. She gently nudged the child with her hoofs to see if it was dead. Surprisingly it was and slowly got up groaning.

"Ow," he said touching his head.

"Are you alright child?" Luna asked. Olly looked up towards Luna and stared at her for a second or two before yelping and running off. Surprised, Luna watched as Olly ran and hid behind a tree. Concerned for him, Luna walked over and looked behind the tree where Olly was trembling. Olly noticed Luna and crawled away from her. "Hey, no it's ok, I won't hurt you," Luna cooed. She tried to reach out before stopping herself. She could see the fear in his eyes. But something didn't seem right. He wasn't any ordinary human child.

"Please don't hurt me," Olly whimpered.

"Don't worry dear I won't," Luna said with a smile. But Olly couldn't smile back. Luna noticed tears running down his cheeks. Something was definitely wrong. Not only was he scared of her, but his presence almost seemed sinister. It was as if some sort of demonic paranormal entity had latched onto him. But Luna couldn't just leave him. "Are you cold, come on why don't you come with me," Luna said.

"Ok," Olly mumbled. He slowly got up and followed Luna as she lead him into the castle.

"I should let Tia know about this," Luna said to herself.

"Where am I?" asked Olly.

"Equestria," Luna answered.

"Equestria?" Olly asked.

"That's right, it's a home to many different pegasi, unicorns, earth ponies, and special ponies like us called alicorns," answered Luna.

"Ponies," Olly repeated.

"That's right," said Luna. "Come on dear, let's get you cleaned up and some food," Olly nodded as he continued to follow Luna deeper into the castle. He couldn't tell her about Fear. Meanwhile Luna had to make sure to keep him safe. She didn't pay attention to the Nightmare lurking in the shadows.

Author's Note:

Prologue complete. So I don't exactly know how well this story can turn out but I've had this idea in my head for a while now. There isn't much to say now but maybe further into the story something interesting would happen
