Takes place after the events of Duel: Twilight vs Twilight

Living on the streets is not pleasant for anyone, let alone a former Siren. Left to fend for herself by her former partners in crime, Sonata feels like things are just going from bad to worse. She longs for a way out and to go back home. Thankfully, there is a way home at Canterlot High. All she needs to do is find it.

I am Sonata Dusk!! And I challenge you to a children's card game!!!

love them both

Never thought I'd say this, but I feel sorry for Diamond Tiara. Not as much as I feel for Sonata, but I do feel for her.

Anyways, story was good. Wish we could have see more Laval action in there instead of Gorz being the main focus followed by Red Nova...but I get it. Sonatas deck is a good pick for her and something we don't see ever! Also like the Batman reference

I really wish I read this sooner. Hell, I wish I knew about this sooner. My whole day yesterday was spent trying to make a functioning Dark-virus deck. Well, that and looking up card rulings. Another great piece of work, Darth.

EDIT: Woops, forgot to like!

Heard that next time, it's going to be a tag team duel at Camp Everfree. Who do you think will be dueling?

Honestly, it could very well be anyone. I'd try to think of already paired characters, like Diamond Tiara and Silver Spoon vs Snips and Snails, but I doubt that's going to be it.

If my guess is correct, though, it'd be a nice connection from this story to the next.

Atleast I still had time to read that comment.

Sorry, I copied a pm Darth sent me a while ago. It was only after I sent it that I realized what I had done and what it sounded like. Anyways, yeah Twilight and Sunset will be teaming up against an Equestria Girls villian as well as a comic villain

Yeah, it sounded a little too out there to just be speculation. Hmm... I haven't read much of the comics, only up to Trixie getting accused of robbery. An EQG villain and a Comic villain, man, I can't think of a pairing, guess I'll just have to wait for it to be published.

Still, makes sense to have them pair up. Twilight and Sunset I mean. It'll be nice seeing if Twilight has made some changes to her deck to make it more modern

So, we talkin' Doctor Sparkle or Princess Sparkle?

I believe it's going to be SciTwi. More than likely

GOD!! All this talk about Darth's next story is making want to duel someone, but it's 4:30 where I'm at, no one in my immediate vicinity duels, and all I have on me is my phone.

There's a duel app now I believe

Duel Links, I downloaded it last year but deleted it. I downloaded it again last month but my progress was all gone so I got rid of it. Not gonna lie, I think I cried when I had to replay the tutorial again. I'm pretty lazy like that.

I just loved this and I feel so happy for Sonata! Hmm, I want more stories in this universe. I have OCs and Deck ideas for weeks!

This was amazing. I absolutely love how you wrote Sonata, and her deck was one I hadn't actually heard of before.

Also, it's really cool how Sunset has Red Dragon Archfiend. That thing was actually my very first Synchro monster. Are you planning on giving out the rest of the Signer Dragons? Because I know just the person to get Black Rose.

Not really. The next Duel story I plan on doing will be a tag team with SciTwi and Sunset working together. If you want to know SciTwi's deck then check out my other yugioh stories

Alright. I was just wondering.

This was a good story. The duel was fun, the setup for Sonata was good and the ending was a happy one as opposed to a “Good triumphing over evil” ending that you usually see in these kinds of fanfics. There were a bunch of errors sprinkled throughout the story, mostly grammar, but nothing to major.

However, I would like to point out two card errors that you’ve made in the story. Normally I’m not against card text changes in fanfics but seeing as how you didn’t mention that you were going to do so before or after the story, I’m going to assume that you just overlooked these.

“Since you flipped my Manju of the Ten Thousand Hands, his effect activates,”

Manju of the Ten Thousand Hands effect only activates if it's normal or flip summoned. Flip summoning is when you manually flip a monster card from face-down defence mode to face-up attack mode.  Manju’s effect doesn’t activate if it gets flipped by battle.

“When Gishki Ariel is flipped face up, I can add one Gishki card from my deck to my hand.”

Gishki Ariel’s effect adds 1 “Gishki” monster from the deck to your hand. Not a “Gishki” card. Gishki Ariel can’t add spell cards from the deck to the hand.
Technectly you made this same mistake twice but I’m counting it as one. :derpytongue2:

Yeah, that's what I was going for. The same old cliche just gets old. So many Yugioh stories follow the same basic pattern that I just wanted to do something different. As for the cards, I will admit I messed up. Chalk it up to miss reading and all that. I'll try to do better in the future.

Have you checked out Twilight vs Twilight or Dueling for Dessert? Those are my other Yugioh stories

Just wondering, who would you give Black Rose to? Rarity?

Not quite. I was thinking more along the lines of a certain shy gardener.

Actually I can see her using a Yubel deck.

Hm. Now that you mention it, that would be pretty cool. But in my head, Yubel usually goes to Adagio.

Interesting idea for her, but wouldn't something like the Divine Beasts be better?

I have reviewed your story as part of the Reviewer's Cafe Creator's Library...

I hope that this review is at least somewhat helpful for you, and as always thank you for the time, effort, and hard work you have put into the creation of this narrative. I am honored to have reviewed it, and I enjoyed myself.

Thank you. I left a comment on your post if you care to read it

not bad; curious to see if this will lead to future stories where Sonata starts to see Sci-Twi as a foster sibling and/or Adagio/Aria becoming jealous/upset with this latest development; also, let's see how the latest revealed decks match up with the characters that wield them:

  • Snails: Ojama: ...yeah, I can see it: that's all I can say about it 😅
  • Diamond Tiara: Blue-Eyes: seeing that there ARE a few similarities between her and a certain OTHER duelist, I suppose this fits 😁
  • Sonata: Gishki: not really what I expected, but not something I'm frowning upon either; I mean, it DOES get rid of the "Who's on first?" gag that would be more then likely to follow if she used a DIFFERENT sort of deck, especially when it came to two certain cards...
  • Sunset Shimmer: Laval: seeing how even post reform, she DOES seem to have a lot of FIRE in her personality, I think this fits her well; admittedly, I'm a bit torn on her use of a few certain cards, but not really a deal breaker for me in the long run...

...well, there's only one response I can give here:

Well I had planned on revealing more decks and writing more stories, but I'm on a personal Hiatus right now. I have a mostly finished tag team story done and after that I was going to show the other decks with plenty of surprises. But right now I don't think I have much left in me

nah i see adagio playing those melodious as for aria....vampires because....she's a punk i don't know

my one complaint about this story

the gorz token is a chick and you know a story is good when i resort to nickpicking

I suppose we'll just have to wait and see if you're right, won't we? 😉

Thanks. And I hope you continue to check out my other yugioh stories
