The hardest part is to realize that since no other pony has ever had depression before nopony will be able to help Berry since they don't know what kind of help she needs nor that she even needs help with it to begin with.

This is pretty much how depression is (imo), feeling like no one can understand what you are going through, and no one around you knowing how to properly help you.

But, you know, there is a diference between felling like no one can help and no one being able to actually help. It's the diference in having a diaease before the disease has been understood or a cure has been found and after that happening.
This was really sad, but really well written, and absolutely heartbreaking. One of my new faves!

This is really well written. Having suffered depression myself I'd say what Berry's feeling is very true to life. And the cure, just as the doctor in this story mentioned, is to get a job. Constantly working on things forces your brain into a different state, it shifts your focus, and for me it makes me think like a normal person. I'm grateful for that.
