Yep that's it, short and sweet.

I will admit though, it is ripe for sequels and rewrites. So if anyone wants to make their own probably far better versions of this fan fiction they can go ahead. I'd personally like to see a fan fiction where Spike travels the multiverse (traveling parallel universes) to a find spell to make himself as small as a pony.

This is quite a nice story. Short, sweet, simple, and has Spike in it. Well done.

You may also notice it's open to all shippings when Twilight said : "I'm sure you will Spike, but keep your options open." And when Spike thought in his own head: "Yeah, she's right. If I can't ever be together with Rarity, I'll try someone else. Maybe even Twilight?"

I do believe there's some fan fiction where Spike finds a female dragon, who isn't like other dragons.

And I'm sure there's some fanmade female Diamond Dogs out there on the Internet.

1072577 Well sure, there's pretty much every possible variant of every possible thing related to ponies on the internet by now. I meant there hadn't been in in the show itself ... yet!

As for your fic, I thought the theme was a deeply touching one. My only complaint would be that it felt very rushed. I can understand that in the pursuit of brevity, but I'd have liked to see a deeper exploration of Spike's fears and a less 'rabbit from the hat' resolution. I'm not saying those were bad, just a personal preference.

I think the basis of the story has a lot of untapped potential. Given ALL the other dragons we've seen in the show, it's very reasonable that Spike would be secretly afraid of his future. How is being raised among, and by, ponies going to affect him? Simply stopping his aging isn't a solution (well, it wouldn't be in the real world).

Anyway, I'm just nit-picking now. The story as it stands is fine (and yes, I liked it).

I also think it has the legs to make for a much longer tale if you ever choose to pursue it.
