Happy New Year to YOU too. :-D

Anyway, excellent job on this one-shot. :-D The exchange and characterizations of Twilight and Shining's parents as they reflected on the recent adventure were quite well done. And, yeah, I also like the thought of the parents theorizing that Twi's magic might have been strong enough to change their luck for the better. I have to admit, that DOES make more sense than it SHOULD .

At any rate:

Applejack: (running, not as fast as Rainbow, but still fast enough to keep up with an automobile) Well, I'll be dog-gone. It seems my super-strength has more uses beyond just lifting heavy objects and punching really hard (performs a leap that covers the length of a football field in a single bound).

Twilight: Well, yes. It WOULD appear that your leg muscles were amplified along with your arm muscles.

Rainbow: (spinning her arms around fast enough to create a miniature whirlwind) Yeah! That is SO cool! Of course, so is THIS.

Twilight: Have you been reading those Flash comic books?

Rainbow: Yeah. I mean, come on. Great artwork, even better action - AND I get cool ideas on some of the other uses of my new speed. The arm-spin thing just seemed like the simplest one to test out aside from the running.

Twilight: And it apparently worked.

Rainbow: Yeah. I figure it might be a useful distance attack if we come up against an opponent too physically tough for me to go close quarters on.

Twilight: That's actually a rather valid point.

Okay, went a little overboard. Sorry about that again.

Anyway, I'll certainly be looking forward to seeing what you can come up with for next year. :-D Should be a real doozy.
