Another note, which you've probably also been told already. It's not really a big deal, but the rank of Sergeant is not spelled with an a as the first vowel. And, traditionally, because I know this will come up later, NCOs are not refferred to as 'sir,' only commissioned officers. However, this can of course be explained away thanks to fantasy, it's just something which readers familiar with human militaries will notice.

With each new chapter, my impatience grows more and more - I expect a plot twist that will dot the "I", but judging by the amount of text here, this will not happen. Let me guess - does the author want the hero's redemption? Time after time, will he work for his pony masters, swearing to himself for quick revenge, until he comes to terms with his fate, becoming another "reformed" "villain"? Please, if my guesses are wrong, say it. Otherwise, I don't see the point in further reading.
