The only people disliking it right now have to have some kind of personal beef with LAP. Either that or they haven't read the first four books and are going "What in the world is going on? This was a fantastic start to a great conclusion to one of the best (and my personal favorite) book series on Fimfiction. I'm greatly looking forward to the rest of it.

Yeah. Just because FiM is notorious for redemption arcs (more like heel-face turns than arcs) doesn't mean fimfics can't have them. There is a right way to do a redemption arc, and I think this is being handled very well.
I don't like time skips that are this big, but I am still intrigued for what has yet to come
