I had a feeling on what the subject matter of what this story would be about. You had referred to the fact that Sunshine and Sunset had tried other methods before using magic to conceive in some of your other stories.
And I have to say well done on conveying the emotional trauma of a woman who's trying for a baby but is told she can't. Reading Sunshine's pain was just so heartbreaking for me.
I found this story great up till the ending (the feels in the shower scene!) but the whole "but we can fix it with magic!" thing just felt like a deus ex machina way to shoehorn a happy ending into a sad but beautiful story. Personally i think the story would have been far more powerful if it just ended with sunset consoling twilight in the shower (or if the adoption suggestion would not have been shot down for that matter which would have given a similar feel to the ending without the deus ex machina, but i realize that clashes with the rest of the homecoming continuity).
Oh well it was still a nice short and i really should get around to reading homecoming in its entirety one day soon considering how much i have enjoyed the bits and pieces i have read already (not to mention you other stories).

The time skips and Twilight using Sunsets name makes this really confusing to read.
