Sci-Twi

Twilight is sitting in the throne room, writing to Sunset Shimmer, asking about how everyone is doing, just some normal stuff. But then, a certain baby dragon, carrying bags of popcorn, goes in and interrupts her.

"Twilight, let's watch more of that dimensional cable we watched yesterday!" He says.

"Not now, Spike. I'm writing to Sunset." Twilight says. "And it's not dimensional cable. We're not watching commercials."

"Whatever. I'm bored. And there's nothing to do today. And I've got popcorn ready." Spike sniffs the fresh hot popcorn boxes he has prepared. "Hmm... Can't you smell it?"

Spike looks at Twilight with puppy's eyes then smiles: "Pleeeeaaasssee!!!"

Twilight rolls her eyes then sigh: "Please, stop that! I thought you were better than this."

"Hey, even you do it at some point."

"Fine. We'll watch MapTV."

"That's what you call it?"

"You want to watch or not? Now, what do you have in mind?"

"I've been wondering what would happen if you were never princess Celestia's student."

"You mean a dimension where Rainbow Dash didn't perform the Sonic Rainboom? Haven't we seen enough already when Starlight ruined our future with Starswirl's spell?"

"I'm thinking about a dimension where you're not good enough to be princess Celestia's pupil."

Twilight raises an eyebrow: "I doubt that there's such dimension. My magic is strong no matter which dimension I'm in." She says with pride.

"Infinite possibilities, right? There must be at least one. Now, work your magic!" Spike starts to gets impatient.

"Shh... Let me concentrate!" Twilight says as she performs the spell.

The map starts to glow again. But unlike last time, Spike has come prepared. He puts on the sunglasses he brought with him and starts eating popcorn.

On the map, appears a young filly Twilight performing the hatching spell on Spike's egg.

"I remember that.Oh, the worst feeling ever, scare that you might fail." Twilight says.

*Other dimension's vision*

"Ok, Twilight. Keep calm! You can do this! Cast the spell and you will get into the School for Gifted Unicorn like you've always wanted." Filly Twilight tells herself.

She puts all her strength on her little horn. She keeps repeating: "Come on! Come on! Work!". Sweats start running down her face as it turns redder and redder.

Suddenly, an ear-shattering sound strikes, causes Twilight to startle, she chickens out and runs under a desk, covering her eyes with her fore hoofs. She shakes, hoping that it's all over. Then, she hears an "A hem". She looks up to see the judges all dissapointed. Small tears comes out of her eyes as she says: "I'm sorry!"

Later, Twilight and her parents leave the buiding. They were all disappointed at the result but Night Light and Velvet both tries to cheer Twilight up.

"Don't worry, sweet heart. There's still other school just as good as SGU" Says Velvet.

"How about we go get some ice cream?" Night Light says. "We can get one for your brother, too. What flavor do you want? Chocolate? Vanilla? Strawberry?..."

"Will you please stop trying to cheer me up?" Twilight angrily interrupts her dad.

She runs off, crying. She thought that she would get in her dream school, and would be one of the best students there. She would get to meet princess Celestia, the princess she has always admired. But now, everything is ruined because of that horrible sound.

She stops at the park she and Shinning Armor usually go to. She finds a swing to sit. Wiping her tears off her face, Twilight thinks to herself: "Why did I even attempt that test and embarrassed myself like that? My magic isn't even that strong. School for Gifted Unicorns? What a stupid idea. Why should there be School for Gifted Unicorns? Why do we rely on our magic so much? We can create amazing stuffs on our own, with our hard work and our brains..."

And since then, Twilight's life has change. She starts focusing on Science. She travels across Equestria, meeting great Scientists, learning about the benefits of technology. She sees science ju as magical as magic itself. She even got into Chrystal Prep, a school for such minds like Twilight. On the journey, she also managed to make new friends.

Trixie, a magician that keeps lying to herself that she is great and powerful. After Twilight exposed all her tricks in one of her show, she sworn to get revenge on Twilight. But then, after sitting down and talking to Twilight, hearing Twilight's story, Trixie was touched. Since then, Trixie has followed Twilight everywhere.

At Crystal Prep, Twilight met Sunburst. Just like Twilight, he attempted SGU but failed the exam. They found a lot of commons in each other: science, books, board games, antiquing,... They always stick together. After graduation, they go different paths. Sunburst's love is for archeology, so he stays back at Crystal Empire and studies to become a professional archeologist, while Twilight wants to continue her study on mechanics in Manehattan.

At the time Twilight studies in Manehattan, princess Celestia has found her successor. A mare named Sunset Shimmer. Twilight even heard that Sunset is actually Sunburst's cousin. But she couldn't care less. She needs to focus on her study. Helping her on her study is Moondancer, a young professor. Moondancer is just at Twilight's age, yet, she is one of the most popular professors at Manehattan University. And Twilight admires her so much. She has a lot of passion in what she does. And just like Twilight, she is one of few unicorns that is interested in Science. As time goes by, their friendship grows stronger and stronger. But after a year studying at MU, Twilight drops out as she couldn’s find the passion studying from others. Moondancer wishes her all the luck on her journey.

Twilight and Trixie decide to settle down in Ponyville. But on their journey there, they stops at a small wierd town where there's only one street, the ponies always smile and they all have the same cutie mark, an equal symbol. Running the town is Starlight Glimmer, a unicorn obsessed with equality. She wants Twilight and Trixie to be part of the town, but they refuses. Starlight locked them up, forcing them to surrender, but Twilight manages to escape and finds out the truth: Starlight has been lying to the town and all of the cutie marks have been locked away in a cave. She returns to the town, exposes Starlight and free the citizens. But Starlight manages to escape. Trixie decides to stay back and help rebuilding the town while Twilight continues her journey to Ponyville.

In Ponyville, Twilight studies a part of science that she has never thought of, time travelling. Being shown by Time Turner, a town's scientist, Twilight was blown away. She remembers Starswirl the Bearded's time travelling spell that she read when she was a filly. The spell can only bring you back about a week or two, but Time Turner has managed to make his time machine go back further, for about 6 months. Twilight sees this as a chance to prove that science can be even more powerful than magic. So she puts all her effort in helping Time Turner with his project.

But their work has been cut short. A new threat comes and terrorizes Ponies' lives. Tempest Shadow, a unicorn with a broken horn, and the army of the Storm King take over Ponyville and enslave everypony. The Storm King wants to develop a weapon: the Crystal Ray. So they capture every scientist there is and force them to work on the ship. And of corse, Twilight is captured, too.

In a week, the army has taken over half of Equestria, include Crystal Empire. The princesses tried their best to power the Crystal Empire's shield, but with the Crystal Ray, Tempest was able to break through the shield, damage the Crystal Heart and capture the princesses include Celestia, Luna and Cadence, sending them to the Storm King. With the shield broken, the crystal ponies have nowhere to run. To survive, they have to surrender. But because of that, Twilight was reunited with Sunburst. Later, Moondance got captured, too as the army took over Manehattan. Now, Tempest's goal is to capture the last princess: princess Sunset Shimmer, who is in Canterlot protecting its citizens.

Twilight and her friends plan on taking down Tempest...

As the army head to Canterlot, Tempest goes to the lab to check on the Crystal Ray. Sunburst sneaks out through the air system, finds his way to the power source and turn off the alarm, which gives the rebels led by Trixie, who had been contacted by Twilight earlier, a chance to break in, take down the guards by surprise and take control of the ship. While at the lab, the scientists fights back Tempest and the guards there, hold them until the rebels come and take them all down.

Having taken over one of the Storm King's ship and have his right arm as hostage, now the rebels plan on taking down the the Storm King and rescue the princesses. They fly to Canterlot, meet up with princess Sunset Shimmer. What they need now is information.

"Alright, Tempest" Trixie says, "Tell us what you know about the Storm King!"

Tempest looks down. Her face doesn't express any emotion.

"What is he going to do with the princesses?" Sunset angrily asks.

Tempest still doesn't talk.

"Why are you doing this? You're just like us." Twilight asks.

Now, Tempest looks up and faces Twilight: "I'm nothing like you." Then she looks down again. "But no matter. I've failed him. Now I'll never get my horn back".

"You betray your kind, destroy Crystal Empire and enslave everypony for a horn?" Sunburst says.

"What do you know about being different from other ponies?" Tempest angrily responses, "You're not the one with magic inside of you but never able to show what you can do. You're not the one who was treated differently because of your disfigured horn and a scar on your face."

"He actually understands very well." Twilight says. Tempest turns to her. "Just like you and him, I have magic in me, but my magic is not strong. I couldn't be like other unicorns with strong and powerful magic. But I work hard, I use my brain and my skills to get where I am today. There's a lot of ways to pick yourself up. Working for an evil lord and destroy your home is not one of them."

Tempest's tears start falling down: "Who would even accept me now?"

"We would." Says Moondacer. "We would gladly help you with all your problems."

"But why?" Tempest wipes off her tears, "Why would you help me after what I've done to you?"

"Because that's what friends do." Twilight says with a smile...

Having Tempest on their side, the plan is more possible.

They fly the ship back to the Storm King's castle, faking that Tempest has captured princess Sunset Shimmer. And at his least expected, they take him down and free the princesses. And Equestria finds its peace again.

Twilight and her friends are granted as heroes of Equestria. Princess Sunset Shimmer decides to develop Twilight's lab at princess's new castle in Ponyville. Moondancer and Time Turner also stay at the castle, helping Twilight with her research. Tempest is granted as the Captain of the Royal Guard, kepping the castle safe. Trixie and the rebels are granted as knights. They all return to their village. Sunburst doesn't stay in Ponyville but he stays close as he continues his research outside Ponyville, mainly in Everfree Forest...

*Back at our Twilight's dimension*

"You see, Spike? Even without magic, I still manage to spread friendship across Equestria."

"Yeah, but you still let Starlight escape. Hey, let's watch that story: Starlight returns and gets her vengeance on you!"

"I'm sure it will just happen like how it happened in our dimension. Nothing special."

"But maybe she'll use your time machine in that dimension. It will be more complicated."

"Was that a theory or a spoiler?"

"Don't ask me. Ask the guy who wrote the timeline. By the way, I think I like Sci-Twi better than you. She got a more heart breaking origin, and friendship didn't just come to her, she had to find it herself."

"Well, I like that robot dragon better than you. He is less annoying."

"Yeah, they should give the dragon more roles, he is such a potential character."

"You only say that because you think that robot look cool. Now, get out of here. I want to tell Sunset about what we just saw. I wonder how she would react when I tell her about a dimension where she is a princess."

"And you are Sci-Twi"

"Hey, that's the nick name for that other me from human's world. Wow, Sunset's gonna love this."

Spike takes the empty popcorn box and leave Twilight writing to Sunset, saying to himself: "I love MapTV!"

Author's Note:

I kinda want to make this chapter a full story because I know it feels like long story but told short (long story short?) and I know everyone would agree. I would have more space for imagination if I can turn Sci-Twi's adventure into chapters .
Also, Sci-Twi's time travel study and Starlight will return with their own story, too. A mini story.
Also, got a headache.
