Okay we need a sequel where this now new race of ponies / PONIS returns to Equestria; the original PONI show their foals where they came from!
It's a little surprising the AI civilization has forgotten how useful organics can be, but perhaps they just never met anything like ponies before.
They're slowly assimilating into the culture. Soon enough the society will regain the soul it once had.
We wonder if they'll return to Equs? 600 years passed is no joke. What will they think?
Keep going! ;)

That's a lot of address space, are you really gonna shoot for 256 chapters ? Not that I'm complaining, I wait patiently for every one.
Or maybe bring in a second octet for a sequel, you don't really need to address the entire range.
Anyway, please keep it up, and thank you for your work.
8623174 To be honest, I probably won't use the whole address space. But I certainly do intend to have the PONI visit their origin.

I imagine one day that different PONIS won't all look the same, the AGIs will allow them the quirks of having slightly different chassis builds and sizes, different metallic colors and styles of manes... as long as efficiency is maintained I imagine they'd relax on this and wouldn't care. Don't want them to be like the Cybermen after all.

D'OH!
This proud father will be busy
Only brain?
Having pegasi in team also would be nice. Because of limbs. They have six of them.
Though if pony species are entirely compatible with with each other, I suppose, that earths and unicorns also posess capability of using extra limbs.
I am guessing that the AGI had made digital copies of the both of those ponies DNA and stuff, so creating wounds at infinity to produce more ponies wouldn't be an issue at all for them, and reproductive organs wouldn't really be necessary at all. The part that bothers me more is the idea of basaltic manufacturing ponies, or beings for that matter, like in a factory; It's not so much the process that bothers me, but the process of how they aside or rather formated, and if they are allow to peruse their own paths that they want to, not that we really allow that much to ourself, and what they decide to terminate a foal because he can keep up with the high performance like the others. It's also disturbing that those foals will have nearly no knowledge of their Equu heritage; the lost of history is something that has always gave me shivers up my spine.
I didn't recall that the Poni was smaller or looked more like a foal in shape mentioned before. Do they look more like organic ponies, with actual eyes and such or to they still look like minimalist pony shape statues? I wonder how the process that foals will be razed in and how Jetset and Crust will be involed in the process.
8624375 Only their brains and a small section of skull (holding the horn) are left.
8624398 Whew, there is a lot here that will be covered in coming chapters. I don't want to spoil that. As for their form now, Jet is making PONI chassis that are much more aesthetically pleasing (to PONI) but maintaining function above all else. The reason more has been fit into a small chassis is simply because all the tech our AGI had when cruising around was hundreds of thousands of years out of date. Their tech moves in small increments—improvements are tiny—but they are moving forward.
And how long till they invent incredibly packed self-sustainig mechanisms known to us (inefficient mortals) as cells and tissues?
8624678 "Invent"? They know full well what biological cells are, but they also know how fragile and prone to failure they tend to be, as well as their limited replacability.
Yes, invent. There are some kind of spiral in all technological developments. Some concepts become considered outdated only to return in a bigger scale.
Those non-biological units also prone to failure. Self-shutdown episode for example. Or crashlanding in a first place.
You watch Isaac Arthur. This is the only place I have ever seen a number of the concepts I learned from him before.
8707623 I certainly do. I even linked some of his videos here and there to help explain what was going on in the background.
Wooo, upgrades from nightmare bots to cutie patooties!
Ah, we shall have brainships! Brainships married to BOLOS! Let the galaxy stand back in wonder!
