All stories have the potential to be better, but I loved this. I love how you wrore Starlight the most, since she still has a few rough edges and would say something like "screw Starswirl" if it weren't a show for little kids. I think you got her point of view pretty spot-on. And Fluttershy is my favourite pony, and even though she's gotten a lot of character development, she still has her vulnerabilities. I could see her worrying about something like this.

And Starlight tripping in front of Fluttershy when she's trying to make it look like she didn't catch her crying. Hilarious.

Starswirl was such a jerk. No wonder he couldn't finish that spell that gained Twilight her wings. If you ask me, the Princess of Friendship should find a new idol.

You know, maybe if I hadn’t just been on a crazy adventure reviving the long lost Pillars of Equestria and eradicating the influence of the Pony of Shadows from an innocent colt, I would be enjoying the gardens more. Alas, my mind was too jumbled as it was from lack of sleep and the overflow of madness.

He wasn't innocent. I know you hate what Starswirl said, but the truth is, Stygian was not innocent. He just got away without saying sorry. Which is all kinds of wrong too.

There was violence on many sides. Many sides.

I mean, all Stygian did was try to make copies of their artifacts. That doesn't really warrant them turning on him, and kicking him out of their circle. Yes, he probably should have asked first, but, the pillars overreacted in the extreme.

Actually, he stole from them, in order to fuel some self-made ritual he didn't want them to know about in advance. The first one to do wrong was Stygian, who didn't trust his supposed friends enough to inform them of what he'd planned. As it is shown, had he done so, they would have agreed. But he didn't.

Trust should go both ways. Stygian didn't trust them, they didn't trust him. But they weren't the ones who then made a pact with an obscure Evil, and yet, Stygian is treated like he's only a victim in all this. He's not.

They would have taken him back, too. If he explained himself. Which he didn't even try.

This was a well done and very touching story! I very much liked how you showed Starlight being more concerned for another pony and asserting her point of view. Your point was well made; we should be here for our friends, to build them up and support them. That is what true friendship is all about.

(Sees story description)
Now, why on Earth would Fluttershy of all ponies have that problem?

(Reads story)
Ooohhh...now that makes a lot more sense...

This was actually really well done! You've earned a like, kiddo!
