The Galactic Empire has suffered it's largest defeat yet with the destruction of the Death Star. Not only did this weaken the Empire but it has helped the rebellion as more systems have pledged their loyalty to the Rebel Alliance.
To save the Empire, Emperor Palpatine has dispatched his apprentice; Darth Vader on a mission to bring new planets into the Empire for more income and workers. However when a miscommunication occurs onboard the Executor it ends up with a Navigator accidentally typing in the wrong coordinates, leading the fleet to Equestria.
Unfortunately for the ponies of Equestria Darth Vader is growing impatient and has therefore ordered an invasion of Equestria.
The ponies are not strong enough and do not have the technology to fight the Empire and when the Empire occupies Equestria, the ponies have no choice but to fight back. But will the ponies fail or will the ponies win with the help of the Rebel Alliance if word of the planet's existence comes out to the public of the Galaxy? Find out in this Crossover Fanfic.

I may have just slid over the description of the story, but I have to agree. They are so many fics where for some explainable reason or for the sake of plot armor, the ponies somehow manage to pull out a Deu Ex Machina out of their asses and win the bloody day.
They better lose and get lightsaber shafted, especially when Darth Vader is in the picture. Every bodies favored Sith lord...who is more beloved and respected then any pony could...on the INTERNET.
Well, that invasion went fast! Of course Equestria was going to lose from the start. Why? Lack of technology and was caught by surprise by the Empire. And I also saw that coming.

I decided to change the picture of the fanfiction because I never intended on Darth Vader becoming the main character of this fanfiction. He only was there as a plot device you could say. Originally Darth Vader was only going to be in the first two chapters and that's it, but due to running out of ideas I put him in the third chapter "Skirmish" as well, none the less I think that the new picture represents the this piece of fiction much better than the Vader one.
Oh and while I'm here I might as well say that work on Chapter 5 is almost done and the Chapter will be released this weekend or next week.

And even assuming Celestia can't weaponize the sun in anyway, there's a shit load of potential magic attacks, they have shield spells, Luna could attack them in their dreams, dragons are also on the planet, Pegasi could create massively destructive storms for them to have to deal with.

Ever heard of Base Delta Zero, mate? 1-2 star destroyers can wipe out all life on Equus within a day or two. Poison gas can do the same in less time. Ewoks were only successful on the GROUND. What if the ponies put up a fight more than the empire expected and they just gas the planet? Empire wins no matter what.

Simply put, Twilight Sparkle is one of the most intelligent characters in the MLP: FiM universe, I would say Starswirl was smarter but he's long gone.
When taking into account that she has been able to successfully manage every situation in which she was unprepared it only makes sense for her to find a possible way to defeat an AT-AT walker. Of course, they are multiple ways other than using a rope such as bombarding it with Ion Torpedos to temporarily disable the walker which will allow small arms fire to damage it. In the end, Equestria does not have the BTL Y-Wing Starfighter to do so or the T-47 Airspeeder which makes Twilight Sparkle's rope idea the best option in my opinion. I may be wrong and there may be a better option but this was the best one I could think off to have Equestria at least try to defend themselves.

Yes, I wrote this as my first ever published story on fimfiction and therefore I wanted to upload regularly to keep the readers entertained. I have learned my lesson now and will usually spend a week at least before releasing a new chapter, sometimes maybe a month.
From this alone, I pity Equestria.

Well at least we know there is still good in Anakin's heart and it will lead up to him betraying the Emperor to save Luke out of love for his son as he couldn't bear to watch his own son suffer.
I have a feeling Luke is gonna be in the battle of Eques along with R2-D2.
