Remember, the ratios of types of porn on the internet is not an accurate portrayal of the ratios of fetishes in real life. Going by human averages, 10% of guys like guy parts, but most of those are also looking for a guy to be attached to them. Having both sets would be a turn off to the majority of the population, because they are looking for a guy or a girl. Then you add in the factors besides sexual compatibility, how hard is it for a straight 100% girl to find the right guy, remove over 95% of the dating pool and it is that much harder. I don't see what is dubious about Sweetie's statement.

Where I was going with it, yes. it's all good for many of us here (myself included), but alas, I think the majority of the population would still find a hermaphrodite to be difficult to accept. I was coming from the point of futa being 'best of both worlds'. You have male bits without the whole 'OMG FAGGOT' social stigma (which is still a thing whether we like it or not), you have female bits when you want them, you have probably more emotionally and psychologically stable specimen than a typical female is, and more sensitive than a typical male. I've always believed this is where the fascination with futa comes from. Might be wrong, of course. Merely an educated guess.

It was also an issue of word count, and what the patron paid for. There were some kinks that I actually advised the patron against because I didn't think they would work the way the story was laid out, that he ultimately agreed to, at least in this installment. Whether or not they'll be more is as yet uncertain, so I've marked it complete for now.

Her goal in chapter three was just to give him back a little of what he gave her in chapter two, that we didn't really see. But yes, it was intended to be romance at a mutual level, as opposed to humiliation or domination from either one to the other. Plus we didn't want to focus on the idea of him just traditionally taking her, since that would sort of defeat the purpose of the futa attachment, which the patron wanted to be a highlight.
I like the world this was set in. I have to say, Sweetie in this story is something I personally never read before. Of course Futa is a major fetish of mine but this, I don't know. This was so much more and actually a really good romance story that it's kinda hard to think of it as a fetish story. SpikeBelle isn't my favorite ship (that honor goes to TwiDash) but I don't hate it and enjoy it as a really good Spike ship. I actually really really like Spike Belle if I don't ship ScootaBelle to death, I ship the hell out of this! I am not really fond of Sparity as it is too easy considering Spike's crush in the show. I think I only read one good Sparity story and that was three years ago. It's not my ship!
I was listening to some really fitting music for this story that impacted me pretty heavily and made this story 10x (hell maybe even 20x) better than just reading it to silence. I am glad I read it. I would say this is a romance story and not very good clop. There are two types of clop stories. Dirty, graphically sexual stories, and vague, almost poetic sounding clop that focuses more on story than sexy times. This is the latter and it is easily better for it. Cynical, Bitter, and almost depressed Sweetie Belle is a new thing I have never read before! I easily say I want more of this type of character portrayal!

SpikeBelle isn't my favorite ship either, but the first person I have to generate the interest of is myself, so I can put an honest effort into creating a story. I managed to do that here so it worked for me
I agree, or at least share the opinion, that this isn't really a 'clop' story. Per the patron's wishes I was attempting to design romance first, explicit content second. I actually find that something of a challenge when it comes to fanfiction, because unless it's an obvious ship where most of the romantic work is already done for you by the canon (Sparity, Shiny x Cadance, so forth), it's a little tricky to keep it from looking contrived - as though you just stapled two characters together for the sake of doing it. I hope I managed to avoid that here, but it's not for me to decide.

I don't know if this linked properly, but it was a very dramatic song! Kinda fit the whole theme. Don't get me wrong, Spike Belle isn't my favorite Sweetie ship. I ship her more with Scootaloo. If Scootaloo is busy elsewhere, I ship Spike secondly with Sweetie. (and Twilight... yes, they are siblings or a mother/son figure, but they can be adorable with each other... I am an excessive shipper) Despite being runner up, I am willing to read it. Especially if it starts off as a friendship or when Spike realizes Rarity is too good for him and focuses more on Sweetie. It's kinda a grey area on how proper this all is as like in the story, Sweetie is basically Rarity Junior or Backup Rarity. It helps Rarity isn't my favorite pony!

I think you made their romance believable. It seems like they stuck together for a while, just the spectre of "Spike had a crush on Rarity" made things seem untenable. Neither of them wanted to break the pattern they were in. You know, until they did.

An interesting piece to read to, and the more interesting I get to hear about a reader's circumstances while reading, so thank you for that. To date I have only set a portion of one of my stories to music, and that was because I was recording an audio adaptation for it.
I have ships I prefer too, but there are many I'll show an interest in, sometimes just to see if they can be made to work. I don't have any Twi x Spike tales, but there are a few princess ones, Dusk x Gleaming ones, and a Pie family one (sans Pinkie), if any of that is of interest. I like a challenge

But yes, when the story is a commission, I do have to work within the bounds of what the patron compensating me for the work wants. It's easy to tell which of my stories is which however, as I always label a commission as such, if that helps to know.

On a more serious note: I legit loved this story. It read as very real and alive. Very human in a way. They aren't star-crossed lovers who were meant to be and it wasn't some case of "realizing he loved her all along, and not Rarity". I mean there are women who would straight up slap a man if they admitted to Spike's plan for that little trinket. And then there are women like the Sweetie Belle of this story who would accept it, realizing that the world is a shit place and almost nobody gets a knight in shining armor riding up to sweep them away atop a valiant steed. So they'd accept it.
Top notch story-writing and it deserved a far longer show in the feature box than it ultimately ended up getting.

For somebody who's totally fine with it. For example: I'm pan so I really don't care about what does or does not dangle between my partner's legs, so long as they are generally not a shitty person. Somebody who is more touchy about such things might be put off. Sure a colt might be really into her - up until the point he realizes she's not strictly physically female. I have met straight men who fall for the trap of a pretty boy in drag hook, line, and sinker until the skirt flips up and then they want nothing to do with it.

I'm glad you saw that in it, because that was my intention. It's not a magical lovestory. They're flawed, normal people, who end up wrapped in each others embrace eventually. Well, as normal as MLP ficcing will allow them to be, that is. If you're into somebody enough, you might just be willing to overlook one transgression to be with them anyway.
