This is a story about a young colt named Stewtary Mess. He's spent his whole life in obscurity, and that was just fine with him. A custodial job at the palace of Canterlot seems like the perfect chance to live out the rest of his days in happy mediocrity. But when a fateful meeting changes everything in his life, he needs to make a choice to either keep living as nopony special, or take one shot at his true destiny.

It wouldn't be that crazy for him to be unable to earn a cutie mark at all...other sapient species don't, like Gabby the griffin. But we've already seen that story. The story started off so sad and it's gotten so optimistic already, it makes me happy.
Poor Stewarty. But it could be worse. Better no cutie mark than a really embarassing one like a dong, or a poo emoji, or Discord's face, or a cutie mark of a butt farting with a cutie mark of a butt farting with a cutie mark with a butt farting, just infinitely. p.s. More fanfics need to cover the mundane occurence of random musical numbers.

It isn't the craziest thing for him to have no cutie mark, I know. In fact, I was first inspired to write this story when I watched "Slice of Life" and heard Gummy having an existential crisis over being a creature that couldn't earn a cutie mark. It made me wonder what life would be like for a pony who never got one, since all ponies get one. I try to capture the ponies thinking it's strange, and not really knowing how to handle it more than having outright hostility. But you're right Stonecrop Sedum, no cutie mark is better than a truly bad cutie mark. I might cover that in a later chapter, though maybe not with the infinite fart thing. Thanks for your thoughts
