E

Mayor Mare writes her mother a letter, one that she had been meaning to write for many many years. Great tragedy often encourages us to do the things we have been putting off.

I'm just gonna quote this since it's how I feel too

A very beautiful story, I'd appreciate a companion piece from Celestia's point of view though. She comes off as neglectful in this abandoning her daughter until the very end. I assume there's a 'curse of mortality' thing there not wanting to see her children age and die and maybe something about not wanting to overshadow her daughter but it would be interesting to see her point of view.

That's a great idea. :-) I can start dabbling the ol'imagination and tell the story from Celestia's point of view. :-) great suggestion.
