The whole premise of this story is that Dash has really thin skin that can't take a joke/prank when she's in the receiving end. It doesn't seem very likely that she'd get depressed or suicidal, anger seems more like an appropriate response from her. This is also why I didn't take that fanfic where she leaves Ponyville after the while Mare-do-well incident seriously

The reason for these ideas was that I figured it was about time the mane six & a few of the townsfolk was reprimanded for their O.O.C. actions that most viewers didn't much approve of seeing that they were against either the said ELEMENTS their suppose to represent or character traits they've been known for up to now. Especially incidents centered around season 2 when things began to change like Mysterious Mare DO Well & Ponyville Confidential, & A Canterlot Wedding. These three episodes according to the website alone appear to be the most talked about for leaving a bad taste in the viewers mouths. What do you think?

I personally think these are exaggerated by the audience who seem to forget that this is a show about making mistakes and learning from them. Not to mention this is early in the series, you can't expect them to be perfect angels when the series has barely begun. And I have seen some stories take pretty lousy directions stemming from this forgetfulness [no offense to you]
In fact, I remember a Canterlot Wedding story where Twilight up and disowned everybody from family to friends to her teacher and she refused to hear out their attempts to apologize and ran away to the human world and agreed to team up with sunset to go back rob everyone of their magic and conquer Equestria and do horrible things to the ponies she once called friends, family, and loved ones.
What would you call that? because I call it beyond petty is what the Twilight of that story is doing.
To put it straight, my takes on these stories is this.
28 pranks later: this was a prank, a prank ment to teach Rainbow what it was like to be on the business end of an elaborate prank and get her to stop her rampant pranking. I mean was this half as bad as Rainbow Dash persuing Fluttershy through a dark and dense forest dressed up like a dragon [something she has a huge phobia of] knowing full well of her sensitivity and phobia? I mean she thought she was going to die and while Rainbow was laughing at her she was crying her eyes out from fear.
the Canterlot wedding thing is another heavily exaggerated thing, I explained it well during a debate on the story broken trust [i think it was called]. you'll get a good view of my take there.

I believe the beef is that the townsfolk(Siblings included) cold heartily turned their backs on the CMC's for getting so sucked up into those GABBY GUMS stories despite it was their own fault for asking more in the first place until they began to targeted them under the order's of Diamond Tiara who was chef editor at the time. Not to mentioned they never found out it was really her behind it all & got away with it scoot free coupled with the fact the townsfolk as well weren't reprimanded for their actions as well for they brought all of this on themselves.

I think they were asking for more entertaining and frequent news so why is it their fault for being angry at being smeared like this?
If anything I would expect the viewers to understand why the townspeople are angry. I mean would you happily talk to the children who have spied on you and written embarrassing in bogus things about you in the newspaper. If anything they were avoiding them out of fear of some other personal secret of theirs or somebody else is what gets exposed.
There's a fault to be had its Diamond Tiara for forcing to CMC need to do this I personally find it a bit ridiculous everyone's pinning it all on the townspeople and they're just upset about their personal lives being invaded.
They asked for more news not slander which is what the CMC seemed to be doing.

But how could the townsfolk have known the CMC were being bribed? Someone would have stepped in then. General populace focus tends to target a source of ire. And that focus was on three fillies spying on and exposing private stuff.
I won't blame the townsfolk for being upset for being embarrassed on fine print. The only one people should be upset at is DT for masterminding these stories and forcing the CMC to take the hit for it.

Its a little unrealistic for them to ask them out of nowhere if their being blackmailed if all the incriminating material is coming from their column.
Given that they needed to search for more material for their column by demand of the Ponyville inhabitants and these incriminating stories suddenly appear on their column under Gabby gums which was revealed to be them, kind of makes them look like the bad guys here to the ones we're getting made fun of because of these stories.
And in case you're forgetting thanks to her father being the richest stallion in town Diamond Tiara has a level of immunity unless shes caught right in the act. She's one of those 'good girl's by view from the adults. So those who don't know her have no real reason to suspect her offhand.

9987498 I immensely doubt that final comment dictating that their lives would completely shatter, everyone would abandon them and everything they had would fall apart just because they were upset with a few fillies for having lies about them written on paper for everybody to see.
I still don't see why the six have to throw themselves at the CMC's hooves and beg for forgiveness when they were rightfully mad at about having their personal lives being invaded and didn't know about the blackmailing.
When the gossiping started it was harmless Jabs at some ponies. nothing seriously damaging like how there later issues included claims that Fluttershy got hair extensions or how Twilight is just another Canterlot snob or how Rarity's diary was invaded and posted nobody's going to act positively when that's going on.
The CMC felt bad about it which shows they didn't like posting this. The fault should go to DT since she masterminded these stories not the ones who were keeping the CMC at hooves length because they were mad about what was being posted about them.
Rarity Applejack and Rainbow Dash especially deserve to feel a touch of betrayal since the CMC we're close to them.
Is nobody going to look at it from the victim's standpoint? lies and exxagerations were made and ponies got hurt from it. Ponies are being made fun of because of Gabby gums and Rarity even had her diary copied down and posted on the paper her personal secrets.
You would be a little bit peeved too if somebody took your personal Secrets and posted them on the local paper without your permission. Are people just supposed to ignore this? The CMC apologized everything's alright now, why can't people be satisfied with that?
