No problem, writer :)

Ahh i see that you did technically get it done today, in Pacific Standard Time.

I'll comment my thoughts tomorrow.

Cool story! I like both the idea and the execution.

Before I read this, what is the Dark tag for ?
And how bad does it get ?

Just for mentions of war and death. Nothing to be alarmed about.

Glad to see that you remembered Sombra's "Kryptonite" crystals. Too many fics seem to boil him down to just Attack! Attack! Attack!-ing, even though he's officially more skillful and tactical than your average villain.
Good story in general, too. Neither Tirek nor Sombra looked inferior, yet each was still a believable threat to the other.

Exactly! The thing that made Sombra so awesome is how intelligent, skillful, tactful, and paranoid he was; much more than the other villains, not being overconfident or impulsive. Not writing it into him severely undermines his character. :facehoof:

And thank you. I'm glad I successful portrayed them as believable equals. :pinkiehappy:

Alright my belated, and succinct review.

I did enjoy the fight, and appreciate your effort to make it a legitimate battle between these two utilizing their own unique abilities.

And the chat was believably in-character.

Though the battle felt a little too short and simplistic, and Cerberus should've put up a better performance for Tartarus' guard dog.

Non-related PS: there's a Golden Eagle hanging on the lamppost outside my window, standing there and being silent for God knows how long.

I tried my best. Was it well done though?

I like to think character dialogue is one of my strong suits. :ajsmug:

First of all, come on, man; you know I can't do super lengthy stuff. I tried to drag out the fight and make it as interesting as I could before they would decide to call it even. Heck, I'm pretty sure it was about as long as Twilight's fight with Tirek. Oh, well.

Secondly, my headcanon for Sombra is that his very presence fills ponies and especially animals with a sense of dread. Plus, what was Cerberus supposed to do? He had been trapped in his darkest fears by the very Tyrant of Fear. :applejackunsure:

Non-related PS: there's a Golden Eagle hanging on the lamppost outside my window, standing there and being silent for God knows how long.

That is both cool and creepy

...

Coolpy. :trollestia:

Anyway, I hope the fic didn't disappoint.

I think overall, it was good enough for what you're trying to accomplish.

And the Eagle is still there, it's probably owned judging the the little leash thing around it's feet.

8331050
Great to hear.

Hmm... I was just thinking, when do you think you'll get to reviewing The Truth Behind Pinkamena and it's sequel, Does it Matter??

In your own time?

8331054
Likely not anytime soon.

8331057
Hmm... Well, who knows? Maybe you'll get bored one day and be like 'Why the hay not?'.

8331063
Most likely the case.

...sweeeeeeeeet Celestia, this was awesome. :rainbowlaugh:

Their battle in the first chapter was epic, but I enjoyed their conversations further. I'm liking that Tirek's tricks don't really work on Sombra, simply because they're "similar", in Sombra's sense not as similar as Starlight, but still...hee-hee~.... It was definitely a better standoff than what I came up with.

The only thing that bothers me is that I feel like this would've been better if they were truly equals. Yes, their powers were matched, but it seemed like Sombra usually got the upper hand/hoof. As awesome as that is, I feel the story's intentions were for an equal match, while the result seemed more like Tirek bluffing his way into a tie and Sombra just taking pity in a way that's like "boi, you know you can't beat me, I'mma bust your ass."

As a whole, I do like the story, and how it not only foreshadows canon, but also the alternate timelines as well. :pinkiehappy: Can't wait to read more stuff from you!

Well, I'm glad you liked it.

But, uh, I thought that they were evenly matched. I think maybe it's just that Sombra's demeanor made it seem like he had the upper hand because of how smug and calm he is.

Oh, well. Glad you liked it.

That is true. Maybe it's just me. :rainbowlaugh: It was a good read regardless.

Now to give this thing a thumbs up before he notices...

8336855
I didn't notice. Good job. :raritywink:

I have reviewed this here. Enjoy, buddy!

This fanfic is great! <3 Absolutely loved it! :) Great job dude! I really hope Sombra meeting Tirek becomes canon! :P
