Just some loser with an unusual interest no one else has.

E

Nightmare Moon. Discord. Queen Chrysalis. King Sombra. Sunset Shimmer. Lord Tirek. The Dazzlings. Starlight Glimmer. Principal Cinch. Midnight Sparkle. Filthy Rich. Gloriosa Daisy.

The show has had many villains, and now they compete for who is the best villain of the show.

I did one like this on fanfiction.net. This will not be the same one. It may contain similar elements, but I'm writing this one from scratch.

Can't stop laughing. :rainbowlaugh:

And fyi, I don't mind Starlight, but I know the fans hate her so that's why I didn't have her last long and mention putting Twilight through a sort of "boss run"

Honestly, I think Sombra was a better villain than Chrysalis, he never underestimated his foe, in fact if anything he thought his foes were smarter than they actually turned out.

8469478
Sombra is so underrated. He doesn't have a lot of screentime or lines, but he came the closest to winning, possibly more so than Tirek or the Dazzlings, because he planned ahead and set all those traps. He is easily the most intelligent and competent villain. Were it not for Spike, he would have won. Plus the scenes where he did appear, he was so dark, so menacing, so evil. Even Chrysalis's scenes weren't so intense, except for her second verse in This Day Aria, that always sends chills up my spine.

He should stay dead though. Even if he wasn't the last, he was the first. As far as main villains go, I mean, the Windigos were in a single episode. You know how Viserys is one of the most satisfying Game of Thrones deaths because he was the first major villain to die? Same basic thing for me here, and it was so epic and spectacular.

8469489
He also could have won if Shining missed his wife-toss or if Cadance didn't trust Shining to throw her. Seriously who throws their wife like a spear?

8469511
Mr. Incredible does. "Bob throw me!"

Can I please get a link to the fanfiction.net version?

:rainbowlaugh::rainbowlaugh::rainbowlaugh::rainbowlaugh:
Thank you.That was,as Rainbow would say,awesome.

And so, Queen Chrysalis remains undefeated.

Here. It's similar but different from this one.

King Sombra might be wrong about the Dazzlings. They could be still around somewhere in Canterlot City. Maybe will see them again in Equestria Girls series when it comes to YouTube in 2018.

8482722
I wouldn't mind them returning for redemption, but the writers said they couldn't think of anything useful to do with them. They have not been seen since, except in flashback, not even a small cameo. Even though their deaths are unconfirmed and they could make an exception to that rule if they wanted.

8482741

Well, let's see if they return in at least five episodes later in Equestria Girls series. They might interact with the Rainbooms for the first time.

8482752
I might not follow it, Equestria Girls doesn't interest me much anymore. And I won't be watching past the Season 8 premier. Might ignore Season 8 altogether if Chrysalis flies away again. And I almost want her to, for fear they might bring Sombra back in the finale, taking away the MLP equivalent to Viserys's death in Game of Thrones from me. (To help understand how I feel about it I did a comparison I know a lot of GoT fans can appreciate, when Sombra blew up I felt the same way everyone did when Viserys got the molten gold poured on his head)

Well if Sombra is Viserys, Chrysalis is Joffrey or Ramsay, except she hasn't gotten her comeuppance yet. The Storm King is Balon Greyjoy (who not only has roughly as much screentime as him, with Tempest as Theon, but he also falls to his death in a STORM)

8482765

King Sombra won’t be in season 8 finale but maybe a G4 Grogar will.

8483373
Did the creators tell you Sombra won't be in it? I know he's dead but Chrysalis was supposed to be dead too and she turned up in Season 6

Grogar would be a good choice though. People have been waiting for that. Tirek of course would have been first choice for a reboot of a G1 villain but we already had him in Season 4

8483427
Tirek looks like a badass in G4. the comics are non-canon. I saw the sneak peak at season 8.

8483427

I just had to know that king Sombra is dead for good.

8483506
So King Sombra is 100% dead and they're never bringing him back outside of nightmares, flashbacks, alternate futures (which they did already), etc.?

If none of the other inconsistencies proves that the comics are non-canon (including Chrysalis referring to A Canterlot Wedding as "last time" in To Where and Back Again", Shadow Play does, coz it depicts Starswirl banishing the sirens quite differently.

But, the sneak peek of Season 8 only showed Chrysalis, probably in the premier.

8483585

My question about her is why is she taking pictures of the mane six and Starlight Glimmer? Is she planning something? Or is she just gonna keep them and make a shrine about them?

Also The Dazzlings being banish to Equestria is different from the one in the comic.

8483735
1. Either there's some kind of changeling magic we don't know about that will either clone or trap the Mane 6 (maybe go all Doopliss on them?) or she'll be demoted to Flim and Flam's level despite how she swore revenge last time.

2. Isn't that what I just said?

8483743

1. It better not be like a juniper montage thing. Everyone hates her even when she is reform.

2. I guess. But we need more dazzlings.

8483805
Well I don't want the Dazzlings to return UNLESS they reform. If they are alive they're powerless, but if they have to survive I want them reformed.

I wouldn't mind Chrysalis reformed either but I know a lot of fans would.

8484176
I want the dazzlings reform too. as long as they get more personality

They've painted themselves into a corner with Chrysalis. It pretty much is a guarantee she'll be reformed or killed in her next appearance.

8484339
Well, Sonata's the comical one and Aria's the aggressive one

8484342
I hope you're right. Anything less than death, redemption, being turned to stone, or being banished to limbo, and I'm giving up on her.

8484648

Sonata will have a mind of an eight year old while Aria will make Garble look all kind and friendly.

Adagio remains the same but she will be shown to get annoyed but them as she secretly hates them both. At least in my opinion

8484648

The Dazzlings new names.

Adagio is Ba-Con

Aria is La-Tuce

Sonata is Toe-Ma-Toe

Would they like the new names?

Though the question is, if Chrysalis is reformed, what would she even do? Thorax rules the changelings now. I can't see her just becoming another one of his subjects.

8485950
She could become one of his subjects. But, what could they really do with her that they haven't done with Luna, Sunset, and Starlight already? She did far worse than them so if she reforms she'll have to deal with that, even if the ponies were more willing to forgive her than Discord.

So, now that I think about it, it might not even be the best choice to reform Chrysalis. Besides, they might decide to expand Stygian's character and tell more stories with him and Tempest. REALLY hoping they kill her or at least give her a magic imprisonment that would take specific effort to get her out.

Or maybe she feels so bad after being reformed, she decides to leave Equestria and start off anew somewhere else. Sort of banish herself? Then we wouldn't see her, but she could be brought back if the story needed it.

The movie does expand on the idea that there is a huge world outside of Equestria.

As for the Sirens, I just get this feeling Sonata would get along perfectly with Pinkie, if she was gotten away from the other twos influence. She just never really felt bad/evil compared to the other two. Just easily manipulated.

And I like the idea that even back when they were in Equestria, she was never really bad, just being lead astray by the other two.

Seeing Starswirl's attitude makes it a very real possibility that Sonata was never really given a chance to be redeemed, which I think could have been done.

8486058
I could see that. Though, are they really going to do another redemption so soon after Tempest and Stygian (even though you could count the Shadow being more the villain than him, and he was imprisoned)? Well, they do so many in the show so they could.

As for Sonata and Pinkie Pie, I think they would get along if the sirens reformed, or if Sonata left the other two. I almost suspected Adagio and Sonata to reform in Rainbow Rocks and Aria to sort of pull a Dimentio and end up like Sombra for it

I can see ideas for future fanfictions there. What if there were others that could have been saved like Starlight? Other lost little ponies that just needed gentle guidance and a friend. But Starswirl never gave the idea a chance.

I think some ponies got to go over every single case from back then and see if it could have been done better.

One thing that i didn't like about the Shadow Pony Episode is that the moral is quite hypocrytical.

They didn't talk to the shadows themselves, they banished them without knowing anything about them, due to that the so called moral of the episode is rendered null.

8850515
Well, the implication is that the shadow is a being of pure evil. Stygian was a pony, and they just assumed he had ill intentions at the beginning. Starlight wasn't 100% sure he was evil before becoming the Pony of Shadows, and she wants to make sure a villain isn't redeemable before defeating them any other way.

Yes, Sombra was also a pony, but the fact that an object of love and light destroyed him while not harming the other ponies or Spike in any way indicates he was quite irredeemable. I imagine if the Pony of Shadows had been exposed to the Crystal Heart's magic, the Shadow would have been destroyed and Stygian would have been separated from him unharmed.

8850800
The problem with that is that it might just be a question of Light kill Shadow and not Good kill Evil.
They never talked to the Shadows and it never got a chance to talk either, for all we know it could just have been a force that wanted to help Stygian. It didn't have the time to do anything evil either, and the little it did wasn't even fully on its own.

If they never talk to something they can't hope to understand it, just like they didn't talk to Stygian and as such didn't understand him.

For Sombra, once again, it may have been a simple Light kill Shadow thing, when you open a light, it removes shadow no matter if it is evil or not, a pony made of shadow will, as such, be killed by light no matter their alignement, just like an evil water being could kill a good fire being.

And while we are at it, it is hypocrytical for them, after the episode's lesson, to not go to Tirek's cage and ask him why he did what he did. If talking can truly solve problems then they should give it a try for every villains, even more so to those who no longer pose a threat like him.

If they want the morale of the episode to make sense, they either must follow it to the end or do an episode where they do try but fail, followed by a direct explaination that true evil does exist. Since this is probably not the direction the show will take, it will probably keep this hypocritical morale and injustice to those whom they just didn't feel like helping.

8851365
What about Luna? In The Crystalling I seem to remember her being turned into a crystal pony temporarily, and she's dark element too

8853644
Having control over the moon and night does not make her a being made of shadow, both Sombra and the pony of shadows were seen as literal clouds of shadow smoke, the closest we've seen luna do that was during her Nightmare Moon form, and since she is no longer Nightmare Moon, even if she was made of shadow at that time the effects the Heart have on her can't be counted now.

She is dark, but not made of shadow, i don't think the heart would have any more effect on her than your regular gothic.

8854027
Sombra wasn't naturally made of shadow, he was turned INTO shadow by Celestia and Luna, AND he returned to his true form (which we're assuming is more powerful than his shadow form, even though the shadow form outwardly seemed more powerful and regenerative, but he didn't really do much between return to physical form and his death). Sombra was a unicorn who was extremely powerful and extremely evil, shrouded in mystery. And I bet if the Crystal Heart was used on Chrysalis or Tirek it would kill them too. The writers wanted to send a message that some villains just don't change, even if over half of the villains in the show do.

Comics have a different take on it of course by making Sombra a shadow creature called an Umbrum disguised as a pony which goes with your "light killing shadow" theory, but they've been debunked by Shadow Play itself as they portray the Dazzlings' banishment differently. They also had an inconsistency there in that the Crystal Heart was fatal to Sombra (and would have killed him a second time had he not been turned into a real unicorn) but only banished the other Umbrum.

"I shouldn't be here either," said Starlight. "I know I was the villain twice, but so was Chrysalis. I'm a more powerful unicorn than Twilight, but so is Sombra. I got to be a main character after my redemption, but so does Sunset. And unlike Sunset, the fans hate me. I've got no chance of winning even if I wanted to." In a flash of light, she teleported away.

:fluttercry: At least she got what she wanted.

Aw.... but you like her better reformed, right?
