Prologue: We Could Be Heroes
“S-stop it, Sunset!” Twilight dug her hooves into the ground. Her knees shook.
Moondancer cried behind her and clutched her burnt leg.
Sunset Shimmer smirked. “Ooh, you gonna stop me, blank flank?”
Sunset lit up her horn. The air grew hot around it. Looking up at her own horn, Twilight concentrated and managed to get it to flicker. A few sparks fizzled out it.
“Ha!” Sunset sent a blast of fire out of her horn. It exploded against Twilight’s face and knocked her to the ground. “Pathetic. That was even weaker than what I hit your friend with.”

Once upon a time in the land of Equestria, there lived a race of ponies. Many other creatures lived there, but only ponies could access the great power called magic. Magic gave pegasi flight, earth ponies strength, and unicorns spells.
However, magic gave an even greater gift: cutie marks. When a pony attained their mark, they gained a special talent: superb cooking skills, incredible speed, mastery of complex spells. There were countless talents a cutie mark could bequeath onto a pony.
With their magic, ponies turned Equestria into a grand kingdom. While many ponies were content with using their special talents for day-to-day jobs, some honed their talents to combat threats to Equestria.
These ponies are called heroes!
This is the story of a great hero and the friends she made.

Go Beyond Plus Ultra
So I read a couple chapters of this a while back but I decided to go and read the manga before coming back and reading the whole thing. It just helps me understand the context of who is playing what roles a lot better.
So Twilight as Deku. Personality wise, that's ok and they certainly both have the same level of hero worship when it comes to their mentors but I don't know. Twilight being a magic prodigy is kind of a big part of her character in the show, her dedication to it is the reason she neglects to make friends for so long and she seems inherently out of character without it. Twilight would fit more in Ida's role than Deku's from where I sit especially since she has family that are also heroes including an older brother (though I hope Shining doesn't meet the same fate Ida's brother did).
Sunset as Bakugo is a much closer fit especially when you factor in the character development that both end up going through. The issue is Bakugo never really goes all the way nice (at least not openly as he always acts like an jerk even when he doesn't mean it) so I'm going to find my favorite Pony hard to like for a lot of this.
Can’t believe it took me this long to give this story a read. I have a feeling I’m going to like it.
Well, how about that. I found this story shortly after getting into this series and starting to write something similar, even putting Sunset and Twilight in those same roles. I haven't posted it yet, though. Hope to have a lot of fun reading this! :)

Boku no Hero Academia has recently become one of favorite anime after marathoning the whole show up to the latest episode, so yeah.
This prologue made me smile, I saw this story before in featured and was like, "I'm really not in the mood to read a lame pony version of My Hero." but today I decided why not, just a single chapter. Im glad I did just from this tiny chapter I can tell its not going to be just a ponified My Hero and Im actually stoked to think about how it may go.
I'm listening...

Is there a similar story but in a more equestria girls kind of context ? Because I find the idea interesting, but I prefer story with human characters (especially for Sunset shimmer).
