Sequels1

  • TPie in the Sky
Sunset Shimmer won't break up with Marble. Sure, things could be going better, but ending it would break Marble's heart. Only a really terrible person would do that, and Sunset is done being the bad guy. Unfortunately, someone else has taken the job.

There's a problem at the Pie Quarry. One that Sunset Shimmer is uniquely equipped to handle.

Dealing with magic is easy. Dealing with cute quiet girls is too, but to solve this one, Sunset is going to need to dig deep. Real deep.

This looks very interesting. Very unique. You seem to be really good at that.

Whatever version of Sunset Shimmer you’ve built up in head, from all of Pinkie’s stories.” Sunset leaned in close, her breath hot on Marble’s cheek. “You’ll find that the real thing is far, far better.”
Marble let out an adorable little squeak, and gave the faintest of nods.

Sultry Sunset is sultry. Jeez, Marble never stood a freaking chance.

+10,000 Nerd Cred points for whoever can nail the Brandon Sanderson reference in here.

Aww, very nice! I really enjoyed this one.

This was fun. A nice, simple, charming story.

For me, Kaiser was the MVP. "Why are you even here?" Indeed. :pinkiecrazy:

Fantastic as always!

Sunset you sly vixen you!

Marvelous!

"Pie Quarry" is Pinkie's nickname for her own genitalia.

New headcanon.

This is adorable. I wasn't sure what to expect going in to it, but you got me hooked fast and I thoroughly enjoyed it.

Sunset is going to need to dig deep. Real deep

*Quickly goes back up to check that this is not in fact a clop fic.*

(Joking)

I can dig it.

GREAT

FUCKING

TITLE

A Rock facing West.

A Bacon facing East.

A boob facing North.

And an erection facing South.

Damn Sunset, you are a flirty one aren't you? With magic in play I'm surprised the poor girl's head didn't explode from all that blushing.:twilightoops:

Never in my life have I needed something so much and never known until I received it.

Sunset gets all the babes, doesn’t she? :scootangel:

Let's just say Marble pie has one helluva party waiting for her

I hope you were serious about those first two in the A/N! The GlimmerPie shipping lately has got me hankering for some more Maud fluff! And I've literally never seen a Limestone crackship so I'd be very curious to see what you'd do with it.

...deep enough to hit bedrock.

Get it? Bed? Rock? :pinkiehappy: I'm sorry.

I approve of the Bakemonogatari influences. Going to have to track down the rest of this series, if I haven't read them already.

Sunset being so flirty feels kind of tacked on... but it really works.

The Pies translated surprisingly well to human world.

I didn't know I wanted it but now I realize I needed it.
Excellent work.

Oh my god I love this idea. Gonna read right away.

Loved it.

How many people have you shipped Sunset with now? I've literally lost track at this point.

Her blush practically shone on her cheeks, a luminescent red that wouldn’t be out of place in a herpetarium.

herpetarium

:rainbowhuh:

She had a sneaking suspicion Kaiser wouldn’t even slow her down.

Everyone who's ever hit a rock while mowing agrees, :moustache:

EDIT: Bah, why are hyperlinks acting weird? :applejackconfused:
EDIT 2: Nevermind; fix'd.

One of the greatest things about Sunset Shimmer. She can act in every single way and it can be believable, that's just how she is. Not only that, every freaking pair works with her. This was just adorable in so many levels.

Excellent stuff. The shipping isn't the central focus, but you still make the relationship work to what would a surprising degree from anyone else. With you? You've proven that you can ship Sunset with just about anyone and make it work. And the primary plot was fascinating through and through.

Thank you for this, and best of luck in the judging.

Very well told story, as I expect from your work, but...a Kaiser blade? Shame on you. In my headcanon Limestone Pie now sounds like Billy Bob Thornton and it's all your fault.

I gotta know... what does a dark skinned grin look like? :P

Called it 100% as soon a they mentioned the monster. Totally down for this ship.

Cute. And the general plot largely felt like something you'd see on the show, if with a bit less humor and the addition of romance.

Next up, we'll ship Sunset with all the remaining members of the Pie family. Starting with Limestone, then Maud, and ending with some really weird swinging stuff with Cloudy Quartz and Igneous Rock. Be sure to see it on fimfiction never.

I don't know you might be able to swing Sunset/Maud, actually.

This was great. I love your portrayal of Marble Pie, and the rest of the plot fits pretty well together with the three EQG specials.

(I'd totally read Sunset/Limestone as well. Seeing Sunset work her way through that gruff exterior could be fun...)

Not gonna deny, this was a sweet little story.

Sort of out of left field but it was a fun and very sweet story. Kudos to you for writing this lovely little gem. No pun intended

Really well done fun story. I hope you keep up the stories. Because they're well done and because Sunset Shimmer is my favorite pony. lol.

After reading all those fics you demanded inspired, it's weird reading one of your own, but I like it. :D

That was awesome. Unexpectedly dramatic. I love the trope of the monster being secretly the personification of someone's emotions. And it makes sense that Marble wouldn't be able to say those things herself so she'd find some other way to say them.

Sunset was perhaps a bit too predatory, but I can perhaps buy it as her way of trying to get the shy girl out of her shell. And the idea that the gemstone would need a more intimate connection than holding someone's wrist is pretty contrived, but come to think of it it might actually just be Sunset rationalizing it to herself, mightn't it? Heh.

Very cute, if a bit bland.

It's also used colloquially to describe men in professions that grant a deep tan. Imagine a sailor on port leave for the first time in three months, or a cunning rogue.

The nature of the story makes the “twist” a bit predictable, but I don’t think that really matters at all. It was a very good, very cute ship fic. Who could ask for more?

...

Answer: ME!!!
I need a cute, quiet girl -off between Fluttershy, Marble Pie, and Wallflower Blush; and I need it now!

The story was awesome. I don’t even think of this particular ship very often. Gotta say though, my favorite bit was that Author’s Note. Especially the end of it!

Cute little story. I'd like to read a follow-up of this, depicting Marble's move to Canterlot and her struggle to find her place there. With Sunset's help of course.

aw, this was such a cute read.

Sequel? Please? :fluttercry:

“Don’t be silly! There’s no way my dad would text anyone! All we’ve got is the first letter.

There's no closing quotation marks here.

Sunset leaned forward, and pressed her lips against Marble’s.

Well. That's...certainly one way to do that. Wouldn't holding hands or her arm be easier, though? Not lead to awkward questions later?

A new ship? :yay:

Very good story, and a new concept of random magical happenstance:raritystarry:

“I’m sorry for this.” Sunset leaned forward, and pressed her lips against Marble’s. Her gemstone flared to life, and her power drew deep from the well of Marble’s psyche.

Oroboro, you big, god damn hero.

Pinkie Pie giggled. “Don’t be silly! There’s no way my dad would text anyone! All we’ve got is the first letter. She dug a folded piece of paper out her hair, and read it out loud. “ Dear Pinkamena Diane Pie, please come to the rock farm as soon as thou art able. Something is wrong. And bring thy magic horse friend. ”

letter." She dug*

Sunset smirked, then casually made her down the hall, acting as if she hadn't noticed anything. When she passed by the intersecting hallway, she kept going halfway, then suddenly spun to the left, leaning over the girl who pressed into the shadows. “Hi.”

made her way down the hall,*

Dinner with the Pie family was both a somber and a rather bland affair, consisting of a weakly flavored soup and some bread. Though Sunset had a sneaking suspicion it would have been so even if there wasn’t a spooky monster harassing them.

I can think of 1 person who'd likely agree on the food. Gordon Ramsay. :applejackunsure:

Before Sunset could work all the way through her moral conundrum, her necklace pulsed. Half a second later, something screamed.

It's near! :raritydespair:

Sunset raised a hand to shield her eyes from the sudden radiance, then her mouth fell open as she realized just what this creature was. It was a gem! Or rather, multiple gems. Hundreds, thousands maybe, of shifting gemstones, all piled up into a roughly humanoid shape. Another step forward, and it shed diamonds, rubies, sapphires, and emeralds onto the lawn as if they were just candy. It looked up, and the various gems that formed its facial features twisted into something that resembled a smile. “It’s you! It’s really you!”

https://m.

“You’re Sunset Shimmer!” The creature bounced and clapped her hands together, spraying gems across Sunset like spittle and crumbs from an over enthusiastic eater who didn’t know how to shut up. “You actually came all this way, just to see me?”

Wait, what!? :applejackconfused:

Marble blinked, turned towards Sunset, then shrieked. She threw her body over her drawing, then looked frantically about, grabbed it, and darted for her closet. She ducked in, fidgeted with something inside, then stepped back out, slid the closet door closed, produced a key and locked it behind her, the paper apparently stashed away. She turned back around, her face bright red and her hands clasped in front of her.

Guess whatever it is she doesn't want to show it. :unsuresweetie:

“I’m sorry for this.” Sunset leaned forward, and pressed her lips against Marble’s. Her gemstone flared to life, and her power drew deep from the well of Marble’s psyche.

Oh my! :pinkiegasp:

“I’m sorry,” Sunset repeated. She sighed, then sat down on the floor, and leaned against the bed. “Equestrian Magic has been loose in this world for a while now. It has a nasty tendency of infecting and empowering all sorts of things that it really shouldn’t. In this case, it merged with the land itself, gems that have likely been resting in the earth for eons. A new consciousness with no of substance of its own, it latched onto the strongest thing it could. A powerful source of emotions. That is, you.”

That explains the kiss. :fluttershysad:

While this story was a little confusing to piece altogether, I enjoyed it nevertheless. :scootangel:
