I don't trust that hoodie anymore

I like where this is going. Especially as as frequent shopper at yard sales, fire sales, and so forth. Also dumpsters are good, just FYI.

Cremini Street. Shouldn't it be Crimeni Street?

Dumpsters? I'm up for free stuff, but I thought that store dumpsters were off limits :rainbowhuh:

Oh don't I know it. Especially ones around a campus after finals during move-out week.

Google's saying that 'Crimeni' isn't a word, so I'll stick with what I have. It's a very subtle reference.

Places that sell food or could throw away biohazards or electronics tend to be somewhat stricter, but most places have a "just don't let us catch you doing it" policy. Though it is specifically illegal (under most circumstances) in a few states.

Thanks!

Criminy is the word I was trying for.

I like the cleverness of 26, so that she has a nice round 25 when the story proper begins.

Man... I'm really bored, aren't I?

Upvote for making me realize how lazy I am while also getting a chuckle out of me.

8274752 Most places are just there for the chance to be dip$hits. Number one places, thrift stores, Used to go the Salvation Army Church SAD joke!. Their “thrift store” was just a place for the sisters to pick up what they wanted for THEIR yearly sales. The good stuff they kept, the trash and what couldn’t even begin to be called trash was put on sales and the stuff in between was thrown away. People FINALLY learned not to take anything to that joke.

Depends--if they're in public space, you're golden. Same for trash cans alongside the curb for pickup.

True story: just a couple of weeks ago, I got twenty-four pony plushies out of a dumpster. They were still in their shipping bags, even.

I've been tempted to go back to college campus for move-out week, just to see what I can find. Even after graduating and moving away from college, I think it was a year or more before I had to buy laundry detergent.

Bon-Bon and the stallion both said two bits, but Lyra paid three. Otherwise amother fun chapter!

Thanks, corrected! It was going to be two, but then as I was writing I realized that I (as a writer) kept trying to haggle down the prices with my own characters. If I'd let myself get away with that, well, we'd end up with twenty six chapters of single bit purchases. Even against fictional characters I keep having to force myself not to push for the best bargain possible!
