Earthling or Equestrian?

#2- A New Soul

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
??? POV

I was amazed at the vast amounts of color as I wandered about. All I saw on Earth was grey, bronze, and black. That was all the color I knew. But a vast array surrounded me, I was unused to seeing it to say the least. It hurt my eyes.

I had taken off my goggles sometime later once my eyes had adjusted to this 'sun' creature. I had also learned the hard way not to stare at it. It becomes angry and burns your eyes. I no longer like the sun. The sun no longer likes me. It becomes more uncomfortable the longer I'm in its sight.

So, I just wandered. And wandered. Aaaand still wandering.....

Its been hours. So... I bunked down by a long body of moving water and promptly fell asleep after drinking quite a bit of water.

I woke up again and discovered it was getting dark, so I collected the soft brush around me and constructed a bed under a tree. A splash interrupted my work.

I glanced over at the stream and found a... creature of some kind. I've heard of them in history books. Something called... I can't remember. I don't know, but they breath water and are apparently edible. The idea of meat made my mouth water as I crept toward the river. I stared quietly, not entirely sure how to catch it. I carefully unfolded half of the Bladelock and held it over the thing.

SMACK!

I chopped the thing in two and scrambled to collect the pieces before they could float away. It was strange looking and dripping blood so I carried it to my tree and pulled out my practically brand new lighter. I've had the thing for years and never had a use for it. If memory serves me correctly, this creature needs to be cooked. I laid the pieces on one of my blades as I prepared to cook. I gathered anything I thought would burn, eventually starting the fire with several stinging fingers and a few choice curses, and held the silver creature over the fire. When that smell started, it took every ounce my willpower to keep from shoving the sharp sword into my mouth into my mouth along with the meat.

It was finally done and as I waited for it to cool, I drooled buckets of saliva. I stuffed it into my mouth.

Absolute Bliss.

It was crunchy at first, probably the bones, I didn't care, I chewed harder. I ate every part of the creature before flopping in pure happiness onto my bed. I was happy here. For once, my life didn't suck.

....

What should I name this place?

.... Perfect.

"Tinkers' Earth!" I shouted in glee.

I laughed to myself as I pulled my top hat over my eyes.

Goodnight New Home, I'll see you tomorrow.

(Morning)

Snap!

I blinked.

The hell was that?

Voices. Somebody was here.
I should have known.

Luna POV

(Two days before)

We were watching over our domain, the dreams of our subjects, as we do most nights. The dreamscape is a vast, open plain, filled with doors. Some are closed, some are open, depending on the Pony who dreams behind that door. A door can be round, square, short, tall, or made from more bizarre shapes and sizes. I can see every dream in Equestria from this place, and I use this place to help ponies in need.

We were watching another of Pinkie Pie's Dreams, the mare could always make me smile, when we felt a dark aura, a nightmare. A strong one too. We let out a sigh as we sent away the party pony's dream and followed the aura through the dream realm, finally reaching a very peculiar door.

It was most definitely not one we have seen before. This one was twice their height, with a reinforced bronze trim, a padlock, and two blood-red swords wrapped it in chains to keep it closed. Distant yells and screams slipped out from behind the door.

A quick flex of our will confirmed our suspicions, the door would not budge.

This was a being new to Equestria. We knew each and every pony that ever slept. The carvings in the door's dark finish shifted constantly in a rather... chaotic fashion.

Speaking of which, We believe know who can help us here. He was asleep earlier.

We glanced to the side and summoned Discord's Door. The stylized, green and gold, mismatched gate zoomed toward me and stopped, spilling the God of Chaos out onto the floor. He stood and brushed himself off before glaring for a moment. The smile returned quickly.

"You could have knocked you know. What do you need my dear Princess Luna?"

"Information, Discord." We replied.

"On?"

We gestured to the towering door behind me.

"A newcomer to Equestria. We must get inside to learn his identity."

"Hmm," he mumbled, his eyes lighting up, "Now that is definitely knew. Mind if I give it a shot?"

"Be our guest."

We stepped aside as Discord floated over and examined the strange door.

"Canst thou open it?"

He ignored our words and muttered to himself, "Well, undoubtedly it's a very strong willed soul to guard its door so severely."

"More than being chained shut?"

"Watch."

He took a step back and snapped his fingers. To our surprise, The heavy swords impaled into the frame of the door suddenly burst forth and attempted to slice Discord to bits. He quickly jumped back, almost too late.

"Those are proof of a very strong mind. And given its size--I mean, It's not as big as mine--I am not entirely sure what kind of being it is. So, Dear Luna, I haven't the faintest how to help you here. The only thing I can tell you is that the soul is strong willed, strong minded, all around strong, strong-

"Are thou done?"

"Not yet. -and Dangerous. It's apparently wired its own brain, whether intentionally or unintentionally, to kill you just for investigating a dream."

"Well... we thank thou for your help Discord, thou canst go back to your dream now."

"Always a pleasure! Toodeloo!"

With that, he curled into a ball and rolled back into his door with an explosion of confetti.

What a strange creature.

We turned back to the door and thought for a while. We remembered Starswirl had a locating spell for just such an occasion. We perked up and promptly cast it, being sure to be out of range. The swords flailed about again as we finally had an inkling of where this being was.

Alarmingly enough, it was in the Everfree forest.

I needed to discuss this with Celestia if I was going to find this being.
