Pretty sure I already have an idea about who the Stalker might be. Hopefully I'm wrong, because if I predicted it halfway through chapter 1, I'll never be able to enjoy fiction again. T.T
I am calling the stalker being Glade right now.
So very, VERY tempted to tag the people this is directed to, buuuuuut...
Stalking isn't just innocently, accidentally creepy behavior. Stalking comes out of a very basic, very straightforward desire to control the victim.
Guys stalk women. Guys stalk guys. Women stalk women, and men. It's not nearly as gender-focused as some sources make it out to be, though it's more likely to turn physically dangerous when it's a guy stalking a woman.
However, it's not an innocent behavior. Innocently awkward behavior takes correction. When someone says it's unwelcome, the awkward person accepts that, apologizes, and changes the behavior.
The creep doubles down, because they refuse to accept the legitimacy of a rejection.
That's the thing about a stalker. It's not someone who's collecting pictures, who's listening to you. It's someone taking control of your life. The pictures are proof you can't escape. The snippets of conversation are to make you doubt everyone around you.
To isolate you.
To say that there's no point in resisting, so you should just submit and beg forgiveness.
How romantic.

*sigh* This is one of the few stories that I just keep coming back to to read, despite the fact its only one chapter, mainy because of the fantastic writing and style. I hope this gets continued at some point, because after all this time I am still very endeared and intrigued about what will happen next.
