When Comet Tail was in magic kindergarten, he had feelings for a certain purple unicorn about his age. And that would lead to him trying to impress her with his magical abilities... only for them to backfire on him.
Then after hearing of young Twilight being taken up as Celestia's Pupil, Comet outright comes to the conclusion that he undoubtedly really needs to improve his magic.
To impress Twilight of course.

8139311 It has been a long time since I have seen this ship. I haven't seen it since I took my first dives into the realm of pony fanfiction (near the beginning of season 3).

Anyways, nice fic. I normally prefer larger plots but it's nice to find the two-shot once in a while.

I feel like this ship deserves more attention, especially when people say Twilight has few good straight ships.
I'm sad this ship wasn't use much... I love these two together and they feel right to me before S4, which I don't mind tender but Comet was a neat idea.
