Castok the Shadow

Humans... Humans everywhere

T

The Sapien Wars 27 AE - 32 AE

The Sapien Wars rose twenty-seven years after the founding of the Kingdom of Equestia and ended five years later with the Treaty of Canterlot.

For historians, it sounds like Tartarus.

For the soldiers, it was Tartarus.

We're talking humans vs ponies here, right?

Somewhat yeah. However, not those bad ones. Those fics that are either them human or pony supremacy war nonsense.

These "medieval humans defeating ponies" stories really annoy me. How the hell is a medieval level army have any change against an army where a third have superstrenght, a third have magic and a third can fly and control weather. For ponies, fighting medieval humans, isn't war, it's vermin control.

Simple: better tactics and planning ahead.

Just because a race has abilities another doesn't have, does not instantly mean they win. If a pony army is led by newly promoted general against a human army led by a veteran general (also depending on the theory of Bigger Army Diplomacy) it's more in the favour for humans.

Also, this story is in a point of view of one pony.

To piggyback on that, you must acknowledge the fact that the human race is one of inherit violence. Knowing this, it is clear that humanity definitely would've been through many more conflicts than the ponies (why they would have better tactics and planning). It is stated that the Imperial Legion of humanity was united only after the absorption of many different cultures and civilizations within humanity itself. This would create such a grizzled, experienced army.

This story sounds like it could get a sequel.
