Chapter 6 Quartz Bell

Hello again it is I, Prince Polaris Solarmoon and once again I'm taking over for Dianne Pie,she is very busy at the moment so I'll be continuing where she left off, right now I am heading to Sweet Apple Acres to see if Quartz is willing to tell us her back story,ah here we are now...

*Quartz P.O.V*

Ah was busy work in at the farm as usual until ah saw Prince Polaris Solarmoon walk up to the farm so I decided ta say hello...

"Howdy there your highness,what bring ya here?" I asked him surprised that he'd visit our farm.

"I would like to hear your backstory."he said.

"My what now?"I said confused.

"Oh my apologies,can tell you tell me about your past?" he asked me politely.

"Shoot why didn't ya say so? Ah reckon ah could tell ya'll my story if yer willing to stay a bit, it's a mighty long one." I had said.

"Of course Quartz,I do not mind at all,go ahead." The Prince then sat down in possibly the most patient way I've ever seen.

Well ah was born a good while back and ah didn't start out as a farmer, ah was once interested in making fancy dresses, if ya can believe that,ah'd rather race Fluttersky than make dresses but ah was a youngin at the time so ah didn't know any better,anyway I was havin' trouble with this one dress for the school play because ah wanted it to look pretty,but ah didn't have what ah needed,so ah lit up my horn to find somethin' for it,out o' nowhere my horn stated dragging like it had somewheres ta go and ah was forced to follow it,ah thought it had somthin' ta do with my destiny or some other thing like that ah dunno anyway, ah had followed my horns signal until ah wound up at some big o' rock,I was angry,how could a rock help me with my dream, so ah discided ta just give up and leave, ah started wandering around for a bit before ah wound up at Sweet Apple Acres.

Polaris Solarmoon was staring at me for bit then he asked me,"Now why would you go all the way over here?"

"I dunno where else ta go." I had said honestly.

"Hmm I understood,forgive me for interrupting your story." He says while giving an apologetic look.

"Don't worry ya self none, ya'll weren't interrupting at all." I say,I then made sure to adjust my hat and went ta continue my story.

So as ah was saying ah had went ta this here farm with no clue as ta where ta go and what ta do so ah had started ta look around the farm until ah bumped into this huge red earth pony stallion.

"S-sorry about that mister." ah had apologized.

"Don't fret none there stranger, nice ta meet ya, what brings ya ta Sweet Apple Acres."he said to me in a friendly manner.

"Hello my name is Quartz Bell, I have gotten lost and if it is okay with you, can you let me stay here for a while?" I had said all fancy like, no wonder why ah gave up on my old dream,ah guess ah never liked it.

"Name's Big Mac ,I guess if ya want to stay ya can, if ya'll be willing to help out 'round here that is, we're a bit short hoofed at the moment,so any help would be mighty appreciated." he said.

"Ok then,I will help you Big Mac."I had said.

So ah had helped out at the farm for a long time, most of the work was done was done by Big Mac but ah helped by bringing the full baskets with my magic,the first time ah did that Big Mac was surprised but after a while he got used ta it, he had said that it made work go a bit faster than usual so let me use it, he than taught me how ta defend myself without magic, ah admit that ah was a great hoof ta hoof fighter, he then gave me his pa's hat and said that ah could keep it as a gift for helping out with the farm, ah never go anywhere without it, I had stayed at farm ever since.

One day ah was really bored and ah decided ta help with the plowin' at first Big Mac didn't let me but eventually ah was able ta do it when he had hurt himself, when ah started it was hard at first but eventually it got easier for me, when ah was finished ah showed Big Mac,he was really proud of me and ah felt really happy, next thing ah knew ah had got my cutie mark, which is a shovel criss-crossed with a spade.

"Sorry that's all ah could remember."ah had apologized.

"That is alright, it was very interesting Quartz but what about Jeweled Apple? Do you remember how you two met?" Polaris asked me.

"I rather not talk about that one, she is most unbelievable character I've ever met,oh dear me I forgot I'm not supposed to talk like this when I'm at work,my apologies." I said accidentally dropping my country accent in favor of my old Canterlot one,that only happens whenever somepony mentions Jeweled Apple.

Polaris Solarmoon had gave me a knowing look than said," Your secret is safe with me do not worry."

I quickly went back to my country accent and said,"Thank ya kindly ya highness."

"No problem,your not the only one who has a secret",he had said,he then winked at me and then his horn glowed with an eerie blue color and he then appeared to have transformed into a dragon that looked almost like Aegis Diamondscale although his scales were a bluish-white,before returning back to his normal form.

"Whoa, how ya do that?" I asked confused.

"I cannot tell you about it,tis a secret after all"he said.

"Alrighty then,ah guess ya made ya point there." I said impressed with his abilities.

I then gave him an apple and then let him return to the castle.

Ya know if anything,ah'm happy to have told him that story of my past,it scares me ta think that ah might have ended up just like Jeweled Apple if ah'd follwed my dream instead of givin it up ,but ah think things just don't work that way.
