Cute... though I can't help but think of the political chaos that will come the moment Pinkie encounters the word "abdicate." She's probably going to end up repeating it until it doesn't even sound like a word anymore.

Yeah, alternate endings to that episode tend to be excessively dark, or have someone else put into one of the Pinkie clones. This was a good one, but the idea that ascension requires death is still pretty disturbing.

Unfortunately, as I said in my own Pinkie ascension story, I don't think she's really going to like it when she finds out what being a princess entails. Everypony will be looking at her and trying to impress her, when the point of being a party pony is to help everypony else have a fun time - and Pinkie really cares about that.

This was definitely amusing, but I can't help but feel that it needs the Alternate Universe tag.

I kind of believe that if a story is written so that it takes place prior to the current canon, and the events of the story are in a way that what comes after would be irrevocably altered, it should get the AU tag, but I acknowledge that others probably wouldn't see it that way.

It does alter history, but like stories like Contraptionology, it's Self-Contained. It technically creates an AU, but it isn't followed up on, so marking the AU bit down isn't as important as it would be in other stories.

This is a pleasant little vignette, but it is lacking in motivation. Twilight ascended perhaps because she had learned friendship, made friends, guided the elements, synthesized what she leaned to produce new magic, and/or was just chosen by the elements. However, Pinkie ascended because Twilight zapped her, and/or because she absobed half a day's experiences from her clones? And then nothing else happens (or is even aluded to). So why should the the reader be interested in this story again?
I did enjoy Pinkie's POV during the zapping. I look forward to your next story.

Interesting idea and well-written, though I wish it were a bit longer. I’d kind of like to see her family’s reaction. “Pinkemena, we told you not to go into the Mirror Pool!”
Or maybe Rarity or Rainbow get it into their heads to use the Mirror Pool to ascend too. So many possibilities.

Just a teeny tiny little bit of (hopefully) (constructive) critic... Are we just glossing over the fact that Twilight just banished (almost killed) one of her friends? Heck anyone else not passionately meditating about the friendship permeating their being and all other Clones memories would instead be imprisioned eternally... Damn even canon Pinkie could be a Clone and the real one in the mirror pond... Twilight has not learned to first think and then cast magic... It should be an lesson but she never realized...

At first i was like:
"Wait! She has to experience the memories of her clones? She got to see what is bad about her that causes problems, fix herself and so transce-..."
"Nope, nevermind that, she just turns into alicorn, just like that. Duh. And no one even gonna mention that she was actually banished, as a clone, that her trust in Twilight and others was ruined, even if she did everything right.
Oh course.
Also, clone got away, run away even, no idea why, btw."
