It's been a long time since Shining Armor has seen his parents. So, upon discovering that Cadence and he are going to become parents, the couple decides to reveal the happy news to them.
They pick a rather exclusive restaurant that happens to be a favorite of Night Light and Twilight Velvet's to break the news. However, Cadence and Shining Armor may not be the only ones who have something to reveal at the dinner that evening.

Dark comedies, at least to me, are always sort of a challenge. It can be difficult to balance out how dark you're going to go vs. the comedy. To be honest I had to stop myself a few times because things got too dark, in my opinion for the type of story I wanted it to be.
I'm glad that it seems to have worked out fairly well!

Well in regard to the story I'm sure all parties involved would be fine with it now that the confusion is out of the way. As far as if it happened on the show... well if Prince William and Kate can have a mess of kids why not? As long as it doesn't feel forced or overly contrived it can be fine.
That said though Alicorns have an apparently long lifespan. Now whether they can or cannot be killed is immaterial at this point. As such Cadence at the head of the Crystal Empire is essentially set unless she were deposed by some sort of coup. Any children she has would probably make up gentry. Unfortunately the more children they have and the more children those progeny have would ultimately render the whole group as more of a joke in the long run wielding no actual power, possibly no actual wealth but only have a link to a title.

Well if they decided to do it at all it would be whenever Hasbro decided it was time to release a play set featuring said character not to mention possible standalone figures. So, if they thought they had good buzz and were going to do a marketing push (outside of the show which garners them some money through sales and counts as an ad for characters) I'd say whatever was closest to Christmas. If test audiences were positive about the character earlier if not as positive or negative they'd bury it in a season or scrap the idea.
I loved it. Hilarious and oh-so-dark at the same time. At least Velvet and Night Light don't let much go to waste.
