This was a great little one-shot! I love how Rainbow comes full circle with her feelings and ends right back up in denial. This was a well written, well executed story, keep up the good work

Ah, this was very well written. Though I can't say I've ever seen Rainbow Dash shipped with Rarity. (come to think of it, I've only ever seen Rarity shipped with Fancy Pants, Blueblood, Spike, Fluttershy or Applejack)
Dash's internal monologue seems as relentless as my own. At least she has somepony to fixate upon. You could tell her that in the Equestrian Heritage Dictionary, the definition for "not cool" is illustrated with a line drawing of Twilight Sparkle, and she would immediately seek out a copy. (And maybe tear the page out and keep it for herself, if nopony seems to be watching.)
This story can be looped like an animation: it can be told twenty times, and twenty times the results will be the same. Which means, at least to me, that it's captured the situation perfectly. Life and love are like that sometimes.
Nice backstory to Blueblood, makes sense kinda, except Rarity still likes stallions after.

Sounds like a Jack in Rarity. Epic. So, TwiDash-ish beginning, and a plot lined for Rarity by somepony that at least SOUNDS like Applejack....like said...epic.

I actually really love this. The poems are all really sort of sweet, except that last one, and it progresses in a great way. About halfway through I found myself getting upset that it was just going to be a one shot since it has such a great setup to more. However that may be my bias playing in from the fact you are one of my favorite fic writers. Take it however you want, its a great fic.

She didn't give up—she just didn't know what to do when she read the final words. She's a very reserved and socially awkward pony; finding out that somebody likes her would be scary enough, let alone discovering their lust. Instead of deciding to confront Rainbow Dash about her feelings the next day, she simply decided to wait for RD to tell her herself, given the high amount of... personal content in the journal.

, so yeah, she has been shipped with everything, I think the kitchen sink as well, at least according to the individual who wrote the watermelon ship. I think TwiDash is my favorite ship, probably because they are my favorite two ponies (followed closely by Luna). As for this story I like it I would love to see a follow up.

I know that, pre-reformation, Discord was an evil jerk. But I don't think he'd murder Twilight (or anypony) in cold blood. Sombra or Chrysalis, maybe, but Discord just likes messing around.

Very true, it would be out of character for him to do so. However, I needed a villian, and a newly 'reformed' Discord fit the bill. I don't agree with it either, but I prefered the irony over some random assassin.

If there's one thing I had to dislike about it, it's Twilight still wearing her tiara. I think that's what I dislike most about this whole alicorn business; the gaudy dress and silly tiara seem to have been glued to her. D:
Otherwise, absolutely adorable little story.
I liked it. Even for such a short fic is really sets the mood. Maybe I've seen to many movies about D-day, but I could really see what happened.
Grey skies, rain and thunder, stormy sea and a big black castle just on the mainland. A bird eye view that shows us how many small ships are heading towards the beach (the answer is a lot) and how many enemy changelings are on the beach (it looks like the enemy is in the minority). Zoom onto 1 ship where the five are preparing for battle (they are not alone and this boat is filled with background characters). The conversion from the story is happening. Dash looks towards the beach (and castle), the camera pans away from the boat towards a bird eye view again. Thunder lights the whole changeling army. Behind the hills are many more changelings waiting, invisible for the Equestrian forces. Suddenly it's obvious that the Equestrian forces are in the minority.
Did I just type that? That was surprisingly easy...
