Needling Haystacks

Doctor of Physics and sometime Adjunct Professor. Warning: thinking required.

This story is a sequel to How can you resist us?

In the aftermath of the Battle of the Bands, not everyone was content to let the Sirens escape.

Jim Spades knew first-hand what the Sirens were capable of. He had been kidnapped and held prisoner by them. When a student he could not remember seeing before recruited him to stop their escape, he went along with it. None of the weird things that had happened to him recently prepared him for what happened next.

Some punishments may be too great to bear. Even caged birds get to sing. A true hero cares about everyone, even their villains.

A pseudo-sequel to "How Can You Resist Us?" by Lunasservant1985, featuring his character Jim Spades. Also crosses over with some original fiction of mine. Neither are necessary for understanding the story, but Lunasservant's story is helpful. For the curious, the non-fimfiction story is located here: https://alantarx.wordpress.com/.

Wow you've gotyou tension and I love what you did with jim, I really made him up with just intending for the original story to be a one shot psudeo parody/homage to my favorite series but you turned it into something else entirely :pinkiegasp:

Hmmm...don think I've seen a Siren story where they lose the ability to hear music as music. Interesting hook.

8020527 That idea was the seed for this story, but I couldn't figure out how to tell it until I thought about using Spades. That, however, led to a different tangent and... well, you'll see. I project only 3 chapters and maybe an epilogue (if I can figure out an idea for the epilogue).

FYI, I made a few tweaks to the dialogue in each chapter after re-reading (well, speed-reading) "How Can You Resist Us?"

Now I just gotta write the epilogue...

Adagio glared at Adagio, then at Jim. "Why should we? What's in it for us?"

There are two Adagios. :D

8078659 Crap, typo. Thanks. I fixed it.

And while I was at it I noticed that I had typed an italics code wrong so the whole thing was in italics. Oops. Fixed that as well.
