but at least she is getting all this extreme emotional backlog off her back, and I will always stick by my conviction that surprise is different than before, maybe not on a side specifically but definitely not working against Twi and the rest. Either way some major things are about to go down including, I suspect a meeting with Emerald 
Now that Twilight is finally about to discover that 'Pinkie Pie' is simply a construct meant to keep ponies from encountering the 'unlikable' Pinkamena, it seems almost appropriate that we find out why, aside from the obvious answer of 'because her siblings like it and she's petty enough a jerk to smash it', it is that machinery brings out the violent, destructive and hostile maniac in Celestia. Outwardly, she looks like one of the more idiotic fans of the agrarian lifestyle who doesn't want to realise that her little ponies might not care to live the simple life she, the Decider, has Decided is best for them; inwardly, she probably fears taking a back seat to somepony with access to an H-bomb.

Here's really hoping that Pinkie lets her true side show to twilight and rainbow dash, including her feelings for twilight. It's going to be painful for all 3 of them, but in time I think it will bring a lot of healing to Pinkie. She doesn't deserve what she's going through right now.
I noticed something that Twilight seems to have either not have heard of yet or ignored: the fact that Ditzy doesn't use her old name any longer; while it's true that she's got a great idea of what to do about the two ponies who have the most to lose if they remember the old world, she doesn't know what to do about those who just might have something to gain from it.
Also, we're just about to see what, aside from ignorance and fear, motivates Celestia's fear of technology; my guess is that they've decided that nopony needs a delusional jerkass with a God complex calling the shots and the crazy idiot wants to get rid of them and their machines. Look how she's stampeded the masses into blindly enforcing the cult of personality Luna probably hates.

OH, crap.....not only does AJ not pick up on the fact that Octavia would probably have cheered Ditzy on if she'd tried killing her, Gilda is back looking for trouble and totally failing to consider the fact that Dashie is allowed more than one friend in the world. Granted, Gryphons are supposed to be monogamous but that's taking a good thing too damned far; it's also witlessly ignoring the fact that Flip-flop is a herd animal.
I hope AJ isnt that stupid, and picked Octy BECAUSE she is in a bad mood,but oh well we will have to find out lol.

I know Legion is ultimately a 'bad' guy, but what exactly IS his purpose? What has he been trying to do other than be creepy and showing up in the weirdest places? I think I might have missed something.

Now I can understand Celestia fearing a nuclear power plant but I can't for the life of me figure out how a diesel train is supposed to destroy the world or whatever nonsense she tells herself to justify her mindless hatred of any sort of machine that might tend to make life easier for her little ponies and therefore less inclined to feed her monstrous ego by using her as a crutch.
The same sort of "I need them to suffer needlessly so that they know how good I am" thinking that dominates Celestia's mind seems to be why Ditzy suffered for years from the stigma of crossed eyes because Celestia-approved medicine could do nothing for her. Given that the Nephite doctors corrected it with almost contemptuous ease, it isn't really all that surprising that she's embraced a religion that delivers the goods.

I'm not even sure that's his purpose anymore, since that would mean he would try to kill Vinyl, and he obviously has no intentions of that right now.
I think he's just a true neutral; does whatever he wants as long as it benefits him.
Legion is odd, for doing all of his "Evil" he really hasn't. He killed a few folks he remembered, showed up at a few odd times then... Gone, though he is still around it isn't a very active evil really. Monty is being fantastic of course, and involving himself in more trains which is probably a mistake considering his current train track record.

I'd have to agree with not. For an alicorn antagonist, he really hasn't caused any trouble on a larger scale. Nevertheless, I found it amazing how our protagonists actually maintained hope and didn't break down upon Legion's rebirth a few chapters ago. It's quite incredible how these normal ponies succeed in combating these deities (Overdrive, Legion, Siblings Nightmare), let alone even had the morale to attempt doing so.
Also, seeing all these events come together is really interesting. Finally, some serious dialogue from Montanna Ulan, which I've been waiting for since the end of 'All Good Things'. I eagerly await the completion of you next installment in this story. Good job.
