When you lose someone or something you love, your whole world will seem black, but the largest hurdle to jump is the time when you have to say goodbye. When a very dear and close friend departs, this is just the very thing that a unicorn filly has difficulties with saying.

I DID NOT CRY! ;^;

The feels, all of the feels! :fluttercry:

"So, I guess you'll be leaving now?"

"Well, actually I was thinking I'd stick around and haunt you."

"...Yeah, that works."

So sad and so heartwarming too.

8009434 Um...no. No.

*ALERT! MAJOR SPOILER OF STORY! ALERT!*

In the most simple breakdown: Scootaloo got into an accident with her scooter after trying out a very risky trick, and it seriously injured her, causing her to become ill and frail shortly after. Sweetie took her scooter from the accident scene, hoping to give it back to her when she eventually recovers from her injuries. The accident actually happened around a week or so ago, if you want to perceive the timeline as such, and through that time, Scootaloo's condition became fatal.

Sweetie wasn't allowed to see her, as she was in hospital and in no condition for visitors. Sweetie knows that she is hurt and in hospital, hence why she becomes frantic when she sees ''her'' outside of the Boutique at night, clearly unaware of the fact that she has died that same night at some point earlier in the day, but she finds out that she has passed when her hoof goes straight through her.

Scootaloo can't rest because she is disturbed by guilt, mainly because she didn't say sorry for what she did to Sweetie, nor Apple Bloom. Self-guilt causes restlessness in her spirit, and she asks for forgiveness from her closest friend, as she has known Sweetie far longer than she has known Apple Bloom.

When she tells her she is sorry and Sweetie forgives her, that is when she can finally have a sense of peace, and she disappears to rest.

I didn't write any further than what I have explained above because I simply didn't want the story to extend longer than that scene. I found it rather cute and adorable, even upsetting to write, but I feel that it captures what I wanted to capture. We know that Apple Bloom is going to find out the following day or maybe later, including Rainbow Dash, but writing them particular scenes held no appeal for me to write, as much as they may have added to the depth of the story's meaning.

Um...no. No.

Too late! I reject your reality and substitute my own.

From now on, I will remember this as the story about Scootaloo the Ghost Pony, Sweetie Belle the Spirit Medium, and Apple Bloom the Voodoo Witchdoctor-in-training. They go on cool adventures dealing with supernatural forces.

Seriously, if I died and became a ghost, I wouldn't go anywhere. I would be like: "Check it out! I can walk through walls!"

This was very well written, and made me tear up a bit. :fluttercry:

Truly... 'You don't know what you've got, 'til it's gone.' :fluttercry:

She eyes me like a Pisces when I am weak,
I've been locked inside your heart-shaped box for weeks,
I've been drawn into your magnetar pit trap,
I wish I could eat your cancer when you turn black....

HEY! WAIT!
I got a new complaint!
Forever in debt to your priceless advice (x2)
Your adviii-cccccce.

Damn, two people beat me to the punch with Nirvana jokes, and here I thought I was being clever.
