Just a guy who found out that a show about talking ponies is a lot better than I expected.

One of the most painful parts of growing up is change. It's inevitable. People (and ponies) become different as time passes, and it puts an incredible strain on relationships.
Sunset Shimmer knows this all too well.
When Twilight brings up the past for Sunset, it's about as hard to relive as she expected.

This sounds really good. I hope there'll be more.

Awesome story hope to see more awesome stories

Very nice and well written, good development between Sunset and Celestia. Hope there's more in the future.

I like this, and I think you did a good job writing it. I've always found Sunset's background problematic, because I thought seeing Celestia as a mother figure would make Sunset less likely to turn on her, but you showed it well. I do wish we'd seen perhaps two or three more snapshots in between the ones here, so we can see Sunset's temper developing, and explore why/how she became hotheaded enough to storm off from Celestia like that. It's like here we're seeing postcards from spots on her journey, rather than following along with it in a more joined-up fashion, if that makes sense? But I like Sunset's characterisation, especially compared to her modern self at the beginning and end, and I like Celestia's reaction to it as well, and how that's mellowed by the time Sunset returns to steal the crown. I also really like the idea that Sunset and Princess Twilight still meet up socially, despite the movies having now effectively replaced Pri-Twi with Sci-Twi. Good job!

This was a nice read, though feels a little incomplete. Sunset's journey through the portal was especially confusing given a lack of background as to how she knew about it and more importantly why she decided to go through it.
