He was a simple stallion of honest stock, and she was content with that. He would write no great sonnets, sing no great ballads, think no great thoughts -- and that was okay. It was the little things, the things he could do, that made her love him. His sweet smile, his dopey accent (how does a nice Canterlot boy like that pick up a Calneighfornia drawl?), his cooking, that ridiculous love of hoofball -- the things that made him real.

Let the neighsayers come. Let them call her sham, pretender, whore. She didn’t care. She had what she wanted.

Initial impulse is Hondo Flanks - Cookie Crumbles, except they speak with Minnesota accents. California accent suggests Shining Armor, except I wouldn't think him 'a simple stallion of honest stock' given he is Captain of the Guard. Except, well, 'sham/pretender' suggests a Royal Pony - which leaves the Alicorn Tetrarchy. And when you factor that in? Twilight - Flash Sentry, and if not that Shining-Cadance, but FlashLight is the more likely here.

I think this is Cadence & Shining Armor.

My eyebrow raised for a moment at the word 'whore,' and why that might be relevant, but then I remembered that Cadence is the only alicorn who's married, or in fact shown any romantic interest in anypony.
