When Rainbow Dash realizes she's late for a sleepover at Twilight's, she has no idea what's in store for her that night. What ensues is a trial of emotions as everypony tells stories about their foalhoods and about their parents. What they have to reveal will change how their friends perceive them and how they perceive their own lots in life.

Seems interesting :derpytongue2:
I'll check it out

Very touching, although I have two minor complaints-

1. The entire thing seems a bit rushed; if you were to seperate each story and bulk them up, this would have far more appeal than it already does.
2. There's a typo in the word "about" in Twilight's letter.

Really, that's all I can complain about. Good work, especially on the premise. Coming from a similar situation, I can relate.

D'awww, such a cute story!

This story was so sad. I still liked it though.
Excellent job!:twilightblush:

865677 What does any of that have to do with the story? :flutterrage:

Except for the fact that death is mentioned, I don't understand why this story is classified as "tragedy". If death actually happens in the story, it's tragedy, if it's just mentioned, I think it would be more "sad".

I loved this. just the kind of sad read i've been wanting to read for a while.

The concept is interesting, but the execution seems a bit off to me. First of all, it's hard to imagine each of these characters opening up so easily about something so serious- frankly, I wouldn't expect Fluttershy to tell her story at all; if I were writing this Rainbow Dash would have explained for her, having originally heard the story from her in flight school.

Which brings me to my next point- there's not nearly enough variety. Twilight Sparkle and Fluttershy's parents pushed them too hard; Applejack and Rarity's parents were bad with money; and Rainbow Dash and Pinkie Pie's parents didn't pay enough attention to them. You had room to tell six different stories here, but they all sound so similar.

They're all so uniformly sad, too. Even half of the supposed positive sides of the girls' home lives aren't actually good things their parents did for them- just positive side effects of their fillyhood trauma. I would much prefer to hear more about our heroes' parents as ponies- little positive details; whatever happy memories they did manage to create- rather than leave them as menacing silhouettes.

A new edition to the Sparkle family would be mighty swell, don't ya think, Twi?”
Don't you mean Adition

great story though:ajsmug:

I was wondering where the rest of the Mane 6's pets came from?

I was beginning to wonder about everypony's parents... Thank you so much for this!
