7857323 The comics essencially make her a one-time phenomenon, a bit like alicorns. In the Fiendship is Magic comic the birth of changelings is shown: on a toxic swamp a mutated tree ate a bug filled with Star Swirl's blood. Then it cracked and Changelings came out along with Chrysalis. And we never got an alternative to make more royal changelings save for Thorax but he was special. Whole story.
Aw, Chryssy worshipped as an ancestral goddess by her people would be pretty fun. Flurry would grow up in a society where the god she adored [ponies -changelings propably too- don't really worship their "gods". It's technicly adoration like we have saints.] would later reveal to want her dead. I don't know abaut you but if God would at some point told me I'm the biggest clump of filth that walks the earth and tried to kill me, it would propably be quite an intresting situation...

What I like about this story is that the reactions feel right. As a parent myself I know that if one of my kids went missing I would move heaven and earth to find them. And if she were suddenly restored to me after years away I would likely react just like Cadance is. Well done.

BAHAHAHAHA!!!!!! CADENCE IS DUMKOPF!!! Seriously, she expected that thing to rid the influence of changeling magic, ha, she only bolstered it.. It's not the bloody elements of harmony, it's a conduit for magic, not a magic source itself.. Twilight probably could of told her that her plan to use the crystal heart would never truly work. Also, five flutteryays say that we get a nightmare Cadence before the end of the story.
Cadance has set herself up for several shattering shocks. One can only hope that when her worldview gets broken, she doesn't break with it.
7877847 I think she already is broken while Shining just doesn't realize that yes some changelings are good. It's like Cadence now knows that not all changelings are bad but she refuses to accept it even if costs her sanity to deny it, while shining is just protective oblivious father.

This story is really making me hate Cadance.
I have been watching so much Robot chicken as of late that this entire story has now turned into a one long running robot chicken story to me now. Especially the part about the not getting by lightning.

I love how this story actually acknowledges The Crystal Empire as an empire lead by an empress (and emperor-consort XD).
I really hate Cadance and Shining in this fic....
Flurry needs to talk to a lawyer, honestly. Unless Equestria/Crystal Empire has some really screwed up laws, her birth parents shouldn't be able to keep her restrained and confined the way they are.
Either that or just face them down and say, "I'm leaving. What will you do to stop me? Force me? Hurt me? Imprison me? Ensorcel me to obey? Is that who you are?"
