I've always been a lover and writer of fanfiction, but it wasn't until I got into MLP that I really found something I loved writing about. Hope you all enjoy.

This story is a sequel to The Element of Courage

It's has been one week since the new Seven Elements of Harmony defeated the Mare in the Moon, Nightmare Moon. Now, Flash and Twilight are staying at their new home in Ponyville, ready to make new friends and new experiences. However, they'll soon find out that Ponyville is a bit different from the luxurious city of Canterlot as the duo learn new lessons of friendship.

What of the mortar events? :trollestia:

Sorry, I'm making a (probably too snarky) joke about your use of "cannon" instead of "canon" in the description, by referring to mortars.
This is a cannon:

This is a mortar:

Yas! Fire the Canon Cannon!

In seriousness, good read.

I'm really enjoying this story, so far. Flash's interactions with the Mane 6 cast, as well as his bond with Twilight and Spike makes this a very interesting read. The extra bit with Scootaloo was also a nice touch, considering your origins for the apprentice knight, himself. Not sure about him saying "Damn straight" with Scootaloo, when he talks about language in front of Spike, though. But I certainly would like to see where that thread leads. My only complaint would be the few typos, punctuation and spelling errors every now and then, such as using "are," instead of "our," along with "of cause," instead of "of course, and forgetting to Capitalize opening segments of their dialogue. Other than that, like I said, this makes for a very nice read. Keep it up, and God Bless.

7847537 you should've used one of the older mortars. lol

P.S. I was wondering if you have something in mind for Flash in Bridle Gossip, and the poison joke, or if you might give him a B-plot, during that incident? Or, perhaps both? I actually enjoy those few moments he has with Scootaloo, so that would be fun to read, as well.

Ursulus Bright: Not sure about him saying "Damn straight" with Scootaloo, when he talks about language in front of Spike, though.

Well, to be fair, the "d" word is probably A LOT milder than the word he was probably thinking for Blueblood.

Anyway, not much I can say other than great job on this chapter. The exchanges, emotional content and future story set-up were, of course, quite well done in all right places. I particularly liked Flash's bounding with Scoots and the stuff about Flash's problem being actually trying to GET RID of his ticket (understandable due to past experience), but not having much luck on that front.

At any rate, I'll definitely be looking forward to more of this as soon as time and inspiration will allow.

Nice seeing the series with Flash thrown into it.

I see that you're a fan of those fan theories of Flash and Scootaloo being related. Also, it's weird that you're thanking Silver Quill because as far as I know, that guy's not a fan of Flash Sentry to put it mildly. Anyway, great story. The spelling and grammar errors are still a problem, but they're a bit more decipherable than the one's from The Element of Courage.

7853105 The reason I thanked Silver Quill is because he said Flash was being wasted as a character. That's what inspired me to write these, and that's why I thanked him.

7854261 Yeah, I can understand that. The guy has a lot of potential. Too bad the show staff don't seem to want to use much of it.

I don't know why, but I find Flash's anger amusing. :rainbowlaugh:

Nice take on Applebuck Season, although I was expecting Big Mac's "How about them apples?" Comment and maybe show why Big Mac was injured and or how badly with how close to recovery he was. But all in all a nice second entry to the series.

Not much I can say that hasn't already been said. Still, excellent job on the exchanges, emotional content, story wrap-up and future story set-up in all the right places. I'll definitely be looking forward to more of this as soon as time and inspiration will allow.

Flash does play well into these situations. Now I'm interested to see what new thing will happen next.

7880554 One author on this site said it best, Flash Sentry with a violent and anger side to him is just as fun as his nice guy side. He's still a gentleman, but if you cross him or his loved ones he'll beat you to an inch of your life. One of the best examples of this is the story Persona EG.

7883835 I think the most entertaining part about his anger in this story is that rather than the magic-induced, hate-fueled anger he shows in the movie, his anger in this story is more of a mix of righteous indignation mixed with annoyance and thinly concealed frustration.

Case in point:
Movie!Flash: Grr. I'm mad because I want this thing badly, but I don't even know why I want it, and you just happened to get in the way of me getting what I want.

AU!Flash: Grr. I'm mad because you're causing me and other people problems, which is making it really hard for me not to be mad at you even though I really don't want to be mad at you, but I am so done with your junk, so yeah, I am mad at you.

7854261 How's the next chapter coming along?

7925722 If I asked you that same question about The Knights of Friendship and your Into the Woods crossover, would you get upset?

7925722 I'm about halfway finished. Writing origanal content is much harder then just rewriting an episode.

I was not expecting that. But, I do approve of Flash having a pet that seems to function like a cross of a D&D Druid/Ranger Animal Companion and a D&D Wizard/Sorcerer Familiar.

7952805 Okay. Sorry never played D&D so I'd have to take your word on it.

A Riolu, awesome! Imagine if it can evolve into a Lucario, or if there is some equivalent to Mega Evolution in Equestria. That does seem like the perfect pet for Flash.

I was not expecting that.

Riolu's one of my favourite Pokemon. So I take it Jakhowl is a corruption of Jackal.

Also I laughed hard when I read the Fastantic Beasts and Where to Find Them.

Keep up the good work sir.

Back at Fluttershy's cottage Flash was busy teaching her animals to play go fish.
"Got any sevens?" he asked Harry the bear, who shuck its head causing Flash to go fish.
It was the demon, I mean Angel's, turn and he turned to Flash and stomped his foot three times. "No," Flash said, "go fish."
Their game was interrupted when the door opened up revealing the girls, who walked in. "We're here," Fluttershy said before noticing her animals with cards in their hand...paws...claws. She gasped and flew over to Flash, getting right in his face, before asking very seriously "are you teaching my animals to gamble?"

Fluttershy, welcome to friendship with guys. :rainbowlaugh:

Also, Flash's pet is a tiny Lucario! So adorable. :rainbowkiss::pinkiehappy::yay: I up until now I didn't know what Riolus were called. I've just been calling them tiny Lucarios just because that's what I'm familiar with. :twilightsheepish:

Can I ask a couple of questions?

First on Suited for Success are you going to have Rarity make a suit for Flash, or will he go to the Gala in his uniform?
And if it’s the later will it be his armour or will he have some type of ceremonial uniform like Shining Armour had for his wedding?
If it’s ceremonial dress will it be the red? Like the Foot Guards of the Household Divisions (better known as the Grenadier, Coldstream, Scots, Irish and Welsh Guards). If so I don’t think Flash would look good in that vivid scarlet.
There’s this image http://chainchomp2.deviantart.com/art/Pony-Wedding-Commission-Twilight-x-Flash-442815412 which has a uniform colour more suitable for Flash.
If you do take it you may need to come up with an excuse why it's different, like say a different regiment of the guard, or maybe to denote his status as an apprentice Royal Knight, like the blue and more ornate uniform is that of the Order of Royal Knights.
You don’t need to take my suggestion of course, you are the author.

My final question concerns the Jakhowl, I’m creating a character for an up and coming story and I’d like him to have a pet, but depending on what I do I may need it to be quite active, so can I use the Jakhowl for it? I will credit you for it. I can change my plans if you don’t wish me to.

-For the first question, Rarity will be making Flash a suit for the Gala which I'll show when I get to that episode.

-Secondly sure, you can use Jakhowl. PM or comment to me when the story comes out

7953511 I suggest you reread the story now that the editing is done. You might like the card scene a bit more.:raritywink:

STOP MAKING FLASH ADORABLE! :flutterrage: Just kidding. :raritywink:

So I take it Magic Duels not going to happen.

It's good that Flash knocked some sense into Snips and Snails. Hopefully they mature a bit with Flash as a role model. The main thing I dislike about Snails is the Richard Ian Cox deserves better (I'm a Inuyasha fan.)

So we skipped Griffon the Brush-Off?, Dragonshy's next isn't it?

7977445 No Magic Duel won't be seen, but don't worry because the Alicorn Amulet will still show up.

Nice chapter. With Trixie's introduction the way it was, I did actually see her playing the role she did in this chapter, especially when it became apparent Ursa minor wasnt going to make an appearance. Still pretty good.

Nice. If I've said it once, I've said it a million times. This should be canon. :raritywink:

Interesting change. With Trixie being on good terms with the others now I wonder how that will change a few episodes?

7978483 Well as Banshee replied to my comment Magic Duel won't happened, but the Alicorn Ammult will be appearing at some point.

7979002 But what about season 6 episodes like No Second Prance and To Where and Back Again?

7979017 We'll just have to wait and see won't we?

Not much I can say other than great job on this chapter. :-D The action, emotional content, exchanges and wrap-up were all well done in all the right places. I particularly liked Flash nipping the worst parts of the actual episode in the bud, Trixie getting an actual moment of heroism AND things ending on such a high note. I'll definitely be looking forward to more, but will also respect that real world concerns have to come first.

Not a bad take. The character development and characterization was a little better than the show and smart call aavoiding the landslide scene, although Pinkie's hop-skip-jump bit would have been cute. But Flash is pure evil telling AJ and Flutters about Twi's fear of....quesideia. looking forward to the next one.

I'm a little hit or miss with Dragonshy, I haven't seen the full episode but what I've seen make me a little put off.

Fluttershy ties with Twilight as my favourite of the Mane 6, but for this Mane 7 I'd add Flash to make it a trio.

Anyway I get embarassed at liking a pony who jumps at her own shadow, and I really think it's this episode which played up her timdity which got overused in other episodes later, which I never like them playing up her scared nature, that just makes her mentality less appealing in a show meant to showcase the equality of personalities.

“Thank Celestia they actually left in an orderly fashion, that usually never works.”

"Checking to see if there's actually a brain in there," he replied harshly.

If you can write dialogue this good when you're sick, I can't wait to see what you'll write at the top of your game.:rainbowlaugh:

8008591 That first one was added by my editor.

8008752 Well, that second line still wins the Best Snappy Comeback of the Chapter Award. :rainbowlaugh::trollestia:

This was a good one. I like how Flash knows Twilight's fears himself since he grew up with her, and that bit with him checking to make sure Rainbow has a brain made me chuckle. So will the next chapter be about Look Before You Sleep?

8009934 Isn't "Look Before You Sleep" the slumber party episode? :rainbowderp: What would Flash be doing at a girl's slumber party? :facehoof:

8010277 No we won't be doing this one. In fact next chapter came courtesy of comickook who suggested it after I finished Element of Courage.

Fun chapter and an awesome weapon at the end. I wonder when we'll get to see Flash use Lightbringer in action.

With Lightning Blitz, seeing he's Grand Hoof's grandson I imagine his voice is like Gray Oak's, especially in the early seasons of Pokemon.
The Celestic Gears gives me a slight Bleach vibe, since the weapon is a part of Flash, and presumably they appear as unqiue weapon, they sound a lot like Zanpakuto. So Flash has taken his next step to becoming a Royal Knight? I presume we won't be seeing his knighting for some time? I imagine not until Twilight becomes an Alicorn.

Bridle Gossip's next, isn't it? What going to happen to Flash, is he going fall victim to the Poison Joke? Is he going to be smart about it? Or is the episode going to be skipped all together?
